This is Saints' new approach. Still's substitute tactics are throw everyone on, see if one or two of them can score and our new transfer tactics are buy everyone up, see if one or two are any good. I may become a happy clapper.
Could say it about any of our signings really. If any PL team wanted them then we wouldn’t have got them you think
Not really the same at all though tbf as Fellows is proven in the division we're in. Arguably very few other championship clubs could afford him too.
Pretty sure others were linked to Mane before we signed him? Fonts was already proven in the league above where we were.
You are forgetting the golden rule that all new signings are absolutely world class, until they’re not, at which point they become absolute dross.
Scienza started last season very well and had a surge of form at the end of the year that helped keep Heidenheim up. They are really a very small team, and the town is about a fifth the size of Southampton, so just staying in the top flight was impressive.
From reading comments, he was a real cult hero there. Blew hot and cold but on the hot days he was absolutely superb to watch. Lots of neutrals saying he is a very entertaining player, typically Brazilian, lots of flair and lots of personality
And Paris FC (who have bags of cash) went for Scienza. Nobody knows. Wait and see (first we need to sign the ****er!)
He is certainly willing to try things and has a good long shot on him. Hopefully we are building the anti-Martin side - one where players are willing to express themselves and take a few risks.
