And Wissa can actually move, unlike Wilson.

Or it might have something to do with needing a third striker and/or variation in tactics where we play two up front and needing a replacement if one is injured.

Him a Thiaw are nice... Wissa and Ramsey are good players.

Ramsdale is a side step at best... Dubs is easily as good.

Didn't Forest just get battered 3-0 at home by West Ham?

Maybe because it was only on the 1st September that Brentford agreed to sell him.

Mind you we could always have kidnapped him, given him a wig, false nose and got him to grow a moustache and registered him under a false name. No one would have noticed, I’m sure.

It’s not exactly rocket science. <doh>

We won't see the best players all on the pitch together at any moment.

    Screenshot that.

This is what I am thinking: we can really press from the front from the get go and get the goals as we should now have some firepower.

Then we have the legs to see the games out.

I think the fact that we have two decent strikers as opposed to one great one maybe improves the goals options longer term in games.

Wissa away at Afcon is a concern. I guess we can then buy in the January window if need be.z

I have very high hopes for him. The guy is apparently full of raw talent and if anyone is going to hone that in it’s steady Eddie.

Yeah, I was also wondering whether AFCON might be an excuse to buy a striker (or AM) again in January. And IF Frankfurt are still interested, cash in on Osula then.

So as it all ends, we have upgraded Lascelles, the vacant Almiron position, the vacant Wilson position, the vacant Longstaff position, gone sideways on the vacant Dubravka position, and downgraded from the vacant Isak position. We've not really done anything more than improve subs, with the one first team replacement being a downgrade - Isak to Wissa.

Is that about right? Overall upgrades to the depth but absolutely miles behind the kind of players that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Forest, Spurs have brought in. I think we'll see a lack of creativity and inability to unlock 'low blocks' as early as the Wolves match. Hopefully we'll see some movement at board level, because this has been pretty much a ****show.

This is what I think the club are thinking but they have to get their **** on now.

We appear to have got a good window out of things with a massive improvement on PSR.

Maybe that’s the thought process. This squad without injuries is a top 6 squad.

Then in summer next year we could literally do a Liverpool and spend.

Our net spend is 70m which is really good.

I think you might be mildly surprised. Isak wasn’t and isn’t a 130m player.

Most of his goals were created by Murphy. And the rest were penalties.

We may have signed two better players.

The rest of the signings are improvements.

I hate to say this (sorry bedwetters) have some faith in this.

The new CEO & SD need to get things sorted quickly behind the scenes. I think both are due to join the club this month.
If there is intent to sign players in January, they need to be identified and lined up ready to into negotiations.

So the window closes and we were told to expect a transformational window and I guess that is what we have got. The wrong kind of transformational but I will come back to that later.

I’ll start by saying that squad wise we are in stronger position than when we started and we finally have a squad that on paper, can compete for top 6 or more. Outcome is a tick but **** me the process to get there has been one of the most tortuous windows I have ever know and I blame this firmly on PIF.

Before I go on about the window more, what PIF, over the past year have and haven’t been doing is raising massive red flags as a NUFC fan and when listed below, you can see it plain as day.

1.Constantly put back the Stadium announcement

2.Hired a CEO and SD that basically came in and did **** all but piss people off and probably led to the Isak situation developing

3.Continue to fund our rivals via Saudi teams (Diaz funds probably help Liverpool buy Isak)

4.Left NUFC with no CEO or SD for the transformational transfer window

5.Have been shown as weak as piss water when it comes to football decisions

6.Decisions take months instead of hours

7.I could go on but you all know this.

PIF were meant to be this multi-national behemoth that would not be messed around by anyone. What I see from above is PIF are none of that. They bought NUFC and instead of pushing the boundaries etc, they are content to just let NUFC build at a slow pace. This will not work as the Cartel 6 will grow at a bigger pace and so we will always play catch up.

Yasir needs to stop saying we aim to be No 1. No, you don’t. You aim to be top 6. That’s fine but don’t promise the world and then under deliver.

The transformation this window has been the transformation of NUFC fans hopes and dreams into realisation that we aint ever going to compete for the premier league/Champs league. The process of this window has been a disaster, everyone in the football world is taking the piss of out PIF and NUFC. I hope it stings PIF hard, but I suspect it won’t.

I for one don’t trust them and I suspect most of the NUFC fan base now don’t either. They need to repair things and quick:

1.Announce CEO and SD during international break or as soon as.

2.Sort out our recruitment strategy. We have bought good players, but I don’t think any are what you call good value in terms of money paid. We need a mix of Chelsea and other models. And to top it all off, due our unbelievably **** process we turn down £30m for Osula, who is unlikely to make it and we had a buy back clause agreed anyway if he did. We are just absolutely abysmal at this player trading lark.

3.Announce the decision on the stadium, one way or the other

4.Sort out agreement with Yasir so decisions don’t always have to go back to him.

5.Agree with Howe, remit going forward, we can’t have SD quitting every 12 months.

Summary: PIF for me have let us down badly this past year, I don’t trust them to continue, and I do expect them to bail at some point (before they commit funds for a stadium) and buy Chelsea (via Clearlake buy out).

I was going to riddle this with lots of expletives but thought otherwise. I hope we start winning soon as if we lose to Wolves (Larson nailed on to score) then things will turn sour very quickly.

HWTL but must admit my enthusiasm for football is lessening by the year.

I agree on both fronts. The excuses are now completely removed.

The board should be fixed and PSR is not an issue now. So we should be scouting outside of the PL more.

We have probably over paid for Woltemade and Wissa but then I genuinely believe Liverpool have overpaid for Isak.

    It’s all relative.

Selling Isak opens doors for us with a potential ability to spend 300-400m over the next year.

The Osula deal we walked away from confused me mind.
