We reportedly rejected their initial bid, too, which feels like we want to make Parrish sweat a little That or Selhurst Park is a little too close to Mayday...
I'm curious as to what you actually mean by this? The negativity around Johnson is weird in my humble opinion. Please elaborate.
Not the person you're asking, but I'd like to address the Johnson negativity, if you don't mind. He just doesn't do enough, other than scoring goals, which he's very good at. He's not involved enough, doesn't work hard enough off the ball and rarely takes anyone on. I don't blame him for his performances at the moment, as he's clearly not a left winger. When he's selected in his correct position he needs to do more, though.
Ali Gold has just tweeted barring anything unexpected that will probably be that for our transfer window. Wish we had got in a LW or another ten but we go on with what we’ve got.
Can’t see us doing much else today now after kolo-muani but you do get a couple of hours extra if you can get the deal sheet to the premier league by 7 so you never know. Got the striker/wide player needed though (if reports are right and kolo-Muani is all but done) and with Simons signed last week for the 10 role then overall, ended up a very good summer window I think. Role on the end of the international break.
You can tolerate that for a front line forward who scores 20+ PL goals per season, However he is not that nor doing that. Which means he should be delivering either a lot more assists, or being such a threat that he drags several opposition players to him.
Agree. The boy can finish. Lacks other parts but still one of the most useful players in the attacking areas
Johnson is what I would call a fairweather player. Excellent when we're on top and the game is nice and open, but if we're up against it and the opposition has our number, he is probably the last player you'd want to see out there on the pitch - little more than a passenger. Kulusevski sorely missed in that regard.
Johnson regularly drops 1/10 performances, reality is he often plays atrociously even when he does score but the boy is a serious finisher and that alone can win you games. As I’ve said many times, he’s a massive enigma.
perfect summary. For me, he is just simply missing for large chunks of the game. You literally wouldn’t know he’s on the pitch. He’s great at being in the right place at the right time to score (and finishes well, to be fair) , but I’m struggling to think of one other thing he offers in 90 mins. IMO that’s not enough to justify being in the starting XI.
£35m for Guehl is ridiculous in this age. He is a £50m+ player for me and would have been a great addition for us. I only hope that we had already been rejected regardless of offer, otherwise we have really missed out there.
He got tapped up by Liverpool ages ago. Good player but something about him strikes me as odd. He's a wrong 'un.
There's something very, very wrong about Chelsea's transfer dealings. Even leaving aside the openly bent nature of their Strasbourg ****, it stinks.
Bayern have obvious received threats that they’ve taken very seriously. Is Tony Soprano a football agent?
