Happy Birthday No7. Do you know why old men wear their trousers high up around their waist? You will soon.
Random question, but for anyone here who's ever gone a cruise, I never get a drinks package because they don't seem worth it but is it possible to get a drinks package for one person and use it to get drinks for day two people? Are cruise lines quite strict when it comes to buying say two drinks at once? Can you get around it by getting a drink from one bar staff member and getting another drink from another bar staff member, while trying to avoid being seen by the first one? Would you get into trouble if the first one saw you? Thanks in advance
@SAINTOSPREY As our resident flight tracking expert, I've been meaning to ask you if you saw this and have any ideas what it may have been about? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cewyrnn1jz8o
I've only ever done a couple of cruises and only had a drinks package once (it was given to us because we were on our honeymoon) so don't take this as gospel. Others may know better and I think there are lots of videos on this sort of thing on YouTube so it might be worth you looking on there. If you're sharing a room I think it's a case of if one person gets the drink package everyone in that room has to get the drinks package so it's probably not an option in that situation. They do police it and I think there are reasonable use limits. You could possibly get around that in some cases but probably not enough to do what you want. Obviously you can't get drinks for two people when you're having a sit-down meal. You might be able to get around two drinks if you're in bars or by a pool or whatever but I think they log all the transactions and I would guess that repeatedly doing what you've suggested would get flagged up in some way.
I heard it was a social media thing started by a group. But I also heard it had an 'influencer' on it.
You mean it had a sort of snowball effect that drew more and more people in? With that amount of interest do you think they were all enthusiasts? And what would an influencer be promoting? There's a whole world out there that I know nothing about, thankfully.
Thanks for that, I will probably avoid getting a drinks package then... Usually soft drinks are pretty cheap, it's just the mocktails that are nice but costly. Also been emailed about getting 10% but unless I can share one between two, it's still not worth it imo
I’ve never been on a cruise, but my 7 siblings all have, multiple times, and what I heard said on several occasions was that they would pay their drinks bill/services bill every day, in order to prevent overspending. I didn’t ask about it but I got the impression that they could sign for things and have it charged to their cabin and they then had the option of paying for it at the end of the trip or sooner if they preferred.
