£55m for a near 30 year old who hasn’t trained all pre season after one good season last year. That’s insane.
Aye to be clear not suggesting Diarra has been poor, the lad never stops. Just hasn’t quite fallen in place for him yet but I’m putting that down to the team gel and balance. I still maintain he will be the cream on the top once that’s all ironed out. Even not quite there you can see the level the lad has.
Canny player mind, and I'm pleased he wasn't playing on Saturday. But £55m for a 29 year old is very heavy wedge. Nice to see a player going on strike getting his way.
edit: apologies if I've missed any player! couldn't fit everyone on obviously. Right winger paramount imo
I do think Howe's Newcastle has a weird tendency to obsess over players which leads to them going way over value for them. Its not every transfer but they do seem to identify 1 talent and then just stop which would be fine if they were Barcelona but there's plenty of weaknesses in that squad that could be shored up.
really fair comments, I didn’t think you were suggesting he had been poor just a fair assessment of the current position. it’s fantastic to think he hasn’t quite hit his straps yet but is still contributing through his sheer workrate….huge potential
Wissa is a very good signing for them if you ignore the fee. You can’t ignore that fee though, it’s preposterous. £130 million plus addons for him and Woltemade tells me whoever’s running the show up there is ****ing moronic. They have surely ****ed next years PSR now and they’ll blame City and the PL for that. Shocking business (if potentially good players) Woltemade has scored 24 goals in his career and he’s 24.
