I get the impression our business is done on the incoming side. Not that I have any sources. Anyone think we might sneak in a late signing? Or let anyone else leave? Sorry, slightly off topic. Though late signings (in or out) can still influence our chances of staying up of course.
I don’t think we'll let Ramsay go without having a decent replacement lined up. If we can keep him until summer Asiimwe might be ready by then.
Given that our next game is home to the spanners it gave more importance on us getting a result today. Should we not beat the spanners, even allowing for a draw, we'll comfortably be bottom six. I'm a fan of Jones and have every faith that he'll give it a bloody good go in trying to keep us up. This season was always going to be difficult after 5 seasons in the 3rd division. We have been given a decent budget, Jones has gone with players he knows, plus getting decent 3rd division players. On paper it has been decent recruitment so it comes down to if they can gel and get the results.
I have always held the belief that the teams around each other will generally have a similar home record, winning the away games is the key to success. If we can win 5 aways that will give us a fighting chance of staying up. Also the position after 15 games barometer is usually a good guide.
At first I thought we had a really strong bench, but not so sure now. NJ seems reluctant to use them until the last few minutes. Previously we had Aneke after an hour every game. I'm not convinced Kaminski is better than Mannion. Early days yet but the idea that we will win games by outrunning and outfighting teams, which is what NJ said, is not enough, as QPR showed.
