£130m according to other journalists than Ben Jacobs, who was apparently the source of the £125m claim. And who has also been called up on it.
So 130m less 30m (amortised value remaining) x 4 years = 400m available to spend of which some of it was spent on Woltemade.
I still think we need someone else other than a 2nd striker who will basically be on the bench. We're going to enter into a new phase of frustration as rotational arguments and complaints become a thing. I'm hoping Newcastle Have 2 or even 3 plates spinning, but I think we're done unless Brentford yield.
Have the club played this well then? The original bid was 110m. We wanted 150m and we sold at 130m. I said this also weeks ago. At least we negotiated a better price.
Alexander Isak will NOT receive a loyalty payment from Newcastle, despite never handing in a transfer request NUFC have negotiated his loyalty payment out of his move
2 weeks of media spin on this now no matter what Newcastle do. Is there any noise on whether Newcastle are closed in terms of incomings?
I more worried about the 7 points we have lost in last games. Could be costly at end of season. No champions league. other players be wanting away. sandro being one. One thing. We have to start to pay more or this will happen again and again.
Too right. If he was that desperate to leave then he can fook off without it. Club has done well there. In reality £130m is a very good price, especially when you factor in we've not paid him the loyaty bonus. Ultimately, it's the gamechanger transfer we were always going to need to be able to push on. It's just happened sooner rhan I expected. So bizarrely, it's actually a good thing once you put aside the initial emotion behind his behaviour and him going to Liverpool. This season might be a tough start if we don't replace him, but in the long term this is what the club needed.
Well, im partly disappointed we settled for 125/130, but wonder if the fee is smaller as liverpool have agreed to pay the rat his "loyalty bonus". For me it had now got to the point where he couldn't stay at the club, too many bridges had been burnt, he may have repaired some with the players, but not the fans. Hopefully we can get Wissa through the door today as we desperately need another striker, some creativity in midfield would be welcome too.
Initial thoughts: We have been butt ****ed by Liverpool throughout and if anyone says dont mess with PIF, you are having a laugh. PIF are pussy cats in this game, they have no real ambition for us other than for us to make our own way, with them making money available as per PSR allowance. 2nd thought: If we dont get some more players in today then we are royally ****ed for this season. 3rd thought: I will hold till the end of the transfer window
Everyone is just assuming that Isak will pass his medical. Could be the biggest media back-track ever tonight.
