Not a rigorous enough one. And I’m confused because another question had it tell me it only went up to 2023 but this one seems to at least be able to pick up our recent transfers when I asked it to compare Jander to Fernandes is went off of Fernandes before he moved to us I asked quite a vague question on scout reports for Southampton fc and our squad gaps. But I didn’t tell it what our squad gaps were - it decided them. I could have been more specific and asked it for specific positions. It decided proven championship scorers but also suggested Piroe who would not be leaving a promoted Leeds. So real scouts still needed clearly. But it picked Piroe, Hadji Wright and this Millwall guy
I wonder if this is with no one else moving other than Smallbone and Aribo. Would be great depth if so but I can’t see it Left it late but I guess the other outgoings are late
Yeah. May well be he’s shipped out and Smallbone stays. As long as don’t play him as sole defensive midfielder it should be fine.
I’d be surprised if we would be prepared to take a loss on Downes after only one season and can’t see anyone coughing up £20m
BEK to Stuttgart for €25m + add ons. Not much of a profit for Leicester at all. Not a done deal I should add.
I did say yesterday that I was hoping that we'd sign a 4th CM. So I'll be very happy if this goes through (assuming that he's good enough), subject to it indeed being the signing of a 4th CM. Because if it's instead a replacement for Flynn, then that's different. I presume though it won't be. I also assume that he's someone who will fit Still's style of play. I always thought that was an issue with Smallbone under Martin. Smallbone never really fitted in nicely, and I suppose part of that is because he was already here - he wasn't recruited specifically for Martin.
I wouldn't be opposed to moving on Downes (especially if he's pushing for a move himself). He's a good player on his day, but something isn't quite clicking for him at the moment, but that also could be because of how well Charles is playing next to him.
Just listened to TSP and the only thing Alfie House seemed to expect was the outgoings of any of Smallbone, Aribo, Edozie, Taylor and Bree. And the potential in coming of Scienza, albeit he said he hadn't heard any updates since the two clubs being far apart on the price. And it probably still requires us to shift Edozie. He also said that we were very open to re-integrating Aribo if nobody comes in for him (and he's had no real interest so far). I imagine he'll end up being our extra body in midfield because I just don't see us shifting all those players. The other thing he said was that he definitely didn't expect us to get another No.9. So I imagine the talks of loaning out Downs and brining a new striker in were just hopeful Saints fans based on Downs pretty ball averse start.
dont't even know why we signed Downs. I saw the video and he looked like another striker who couldn't find the back off the goal and we've had quite a few of those already
Any striker who is on video scoring loads of goals is quite likely to be either out of our price range or scoring them at such a low standard that it won’t translate (see - Onuachu) So we are presumably looking for attributes and hoping it will come together It’s the real issue with striker signings.
Or perhaps it comes down to incompetent staff. I believe Kevin Philips was part of our youth academy as a right back. We released him as ge was too small. Golden boot in late 90's. Like our strikers the mgmt can't hit a cows arse with a certain musical instrument
You seem to be making a completely separate point. This isn’t a discussion about treatment of academy players. And if it was I’d expect you’d find every club has examples of this. And that Phillips might not even be our worst one
