We played liked I thought we would. Im not worried. Osula is a good lad but he isn't what we need up front so to expect him to lead the line on his own was always a tall ask. Let's see what the final two days of the window bring. Need a number 9 and a genuine game changer in midfield. I think we will get number 9 but unless Lopez comes in as a swap for Isak, the midfielder will have to wait. I think Howe is going to take some time to get used to having better players on the bench.
I'm looking at the other sides. Liverpool was decent but what kind of football was it? It was high intensity and we lost players to a red card and injury.. We're playing 3 competitions and like 2 years ago history is going to repeat. Essentially there's at least 4 better 11s and better squads. Newcastle were dreadful today and you know it but you don't like people saying it.
It's an awkward time, and circumstances are against us, result is ok given this. Next game has proper striker and our midfield back.
Well that one was a feast for the eyes a great advert for the Premier League and proof that we’re resilient as ****. if you can’t win, don’t lose… you can’t lose more than 6 matches and win the title so we’re still well on target, plus big-Nick and the two other transfers incoming yet to play. this is an exciting time, we go again!
We need a bigger and better mindset than plucky losers and hard working tough to beat. Huge season for Howe.
The thing is you have to then realise you're talking about a completely new build. There's been 4 years of a recruitment and the side is packed out from top to bottom with a certain type. The owners have gone all in on the next 3 years with Howe, so there's not going to be anything changed and we will have to see how things unfold. If Howes use of this squad is anything like his in game management we're in big trouble this season... It's essentially the same thing.
