Thanks for the positive and detailed report.

I agree that we have potential, the frustration is that we need to convert to consistent performance.

However, this afternoon and evening feels much better than that of last week.

Beth has nothing to do with rudeness, I can assure you. It was just your way of summing up and going through the players performance; it reminded me that you found the weakest link 'Walsh'!

    My player ratings
Walsh - in what way would Nardi not be at least as good.
All other players have been dropped so far. Why not him?
New left back. The new Bidwell but with a better right foot than Bidders and Paal. Ran out of steam but looks solid and experienced. We then bring on the Brazilian lad with the shot who looks like he could be very good one day.
    2 CBS our best pairing.
Jimmy. Not at his tip top best currently but we love him
Varane his best game so far this season.
Madsen. Our best passer in cm but we all know what he doesn’t do.
Looked better with more steel around him. This time last season K Morgan was much better there so hopefully that is the future.
Hayden Varane might be a good pairing
Smyth. We are always better with him on the pitch despite his weaknesses. Must have gone off injured
Dembele. I like him but he needs some good games before Poku returns
Vale. Had a good start then disappointed if I’m honest. Watch this space as he has determination and skill.
Kone. Solid all round but didn’t win enough in the air.

Burrell. A decent lively sub. Good to see him go right up top. We have options. He seems to make things happen whilst looking fairly casual about it all.
Kolli. Did little and needs to up his game or he won’t have much game time.
    Saito. Nuff said

    It’s a much better squad

    Manager did pretty well today.
Season could still go either way

Bit confused as you called him "Charltons **** trainer."

And he is their "**** manager".. thought he got in a trainer to complement his endearing character

I think the third goal was totally unnecessary
    Just showing off really
2 1 would have been the better result

Ok, after watching/being to every game this season-
Walsh will cost us a lot of points
Mbengue can't do 90 mins, but still loads better than Cook speed wise
Madsen is ****. There goal came from Madsen passing to a non existent colleague, and went out for a throw.

Great win and touch by Burrell for Kone's goal, similar win in centre midfield for Saitos goal were great . Let's not get carried away, a lot of this game was a horrible watch. We desperately need box to box midfielders, we need to play Kone with Burrell and we need Nardi to play.
Best bit of the match was Dunne going absolutely mental at Walsh and Madsen, cos we all know neither of these should be playing

Poor Madders. Probably his best half an hour for the club. Not sure where he went for the rest of it but it was a good half an hour. Won a header against a bloke only seven inches shorter than him and that long pass to Smyth was a delight.

Yeah, I didn't think there was much between Walsh and Nardi but now I've seen more of Walsh, I'm starting to see it more clearly. As said above, Madsen had his best 20 minutes or so but he hasn't really set a high bar to form that opinion, he just doesn't have the bollox for this league. It was a decent 3 points, but considering our signings, it's 3 PTS we should have expected at home. Now time for some players to get injured during the break.

After 15mins it was a horrible watch. Luckily Charlton couldn't capitalise on our lack of any identity. Boot it up, play it around the back, play it through the thirds, no one had a clue what we were doing. It took Walsh to kick it straight to oppo goalie before Dunne went mental at him, followed shortly by going ballistic at Madsen.
The result glosses over how poor we still are. We won zero 2nd ball from 15min to 75mins. The space between the thirds was shocking, Charlton won everything.
We fought for a bit then gave up, a better team would have buried us

Nardi has to start, then play 4-4-2 , continually playing down the lines. Kone and Burrell playing together will cause carnage. Sorry Smyth should play in front of Dembele all day long, logical sub was Saito for Dembele, instead Kolli for Smyth? Very worrying

Doesn't everyone know by now that Smyth is ****e? Must be so 'cos the collective has spoken. Dembele too for that matter. To me we have a large squad with a lot of options and everyone should be able to put a shift in for 45-60 minutes at least before making way. The manager should not be waiting until 75-89 minutes to make changes when the team has already surrendered the initiative. There should not be any GK debate at all. It is a no-brainer that Nardi should be playing.

Smyth is not the best technical player we have but we always seem nore forward looking when he's in the team.
He provides an outlet and runs into spaces.

I felt we were worse when he was replaced.

Blimey, some of the player celebrations at the end were a tad over the top, it was like we had won the league but I suppose it did move us up to the dizzy heights of 18th.

Smyths enthusiasm and work rate gets him selected and it was understandable why, especially after last week's game. I still have to question Madsens selection based on that theory.

If Warnock were in charge, Smyth would always be the first name on the team sheet and he would work with him to improve his delivery. He wouldn't need stats to tell him that which is obvious. BTW I'm not calling for Warnock to be brought back. His time is over.

still nice to see it. you want a team to be invested. It should mean something when you win or lose. shows you care and have pride.

Smyth is a good lad to have around. Either starting or coming off the bench. His enthusiasm is infectious.
