Think they were both blatant penalties tbh

Great that we have players who can save a penalty …

… and players who can take a penalty.

We keep breaking hoodoos every week.

Haven't seen them back. I sit North stand and thought theirs was harsh in real time. No idea about ours tbh

    Edit.

only if / when they’re given on every corner. As both of them happen 80% of the time

    To be fair
Some people have trains to catch :emoticon-0105-wink:
    Traffic to miss
    And pints to drink

What a result - I’m glad I staid till the end

I played to a good standard but nothing within a million miles of this and if I’d had a 24 hours like Isidor had (all that travel, no sleep etc) I’d have been crying out of the match petrified of the affect it would all have had on my performance levels.

Just amazing that Isidor made himself available let alone that he came on and gave a decent performance at PL level!

Ive no idea on tactics, but what did you think of Sadiki dropping into LB and Reinildo basically playing upfront @Scout73 @MadMackem77 @tactic lads.

Decent idea to create space and a spare runner? I missed the West Ham game as our lass was in hospital so dont know if they tried it then or if it was new

Well Isidor missed two penalties at Turf Moor back in January so he must have worked hard on his technique since then

It was to get Le Fee more centrally, I think it worked in the 1st half - think Brentford adapted to it in the 2nd half.

Was important to try and get players behind their CM 2, so that tactic worked for that. I wouldn't want to do it every game but it's nice that we are making these tweaks, I suspect the Spanish coach we've got is having a huge impact on this.

Talbi might not of played his best imo but he helped the tactic by keeping his width and keeping their LB occupied

It's not like we hadn't given them a pictoral clue and spelled it out for them in huge letters... FB_IMG_1755463102299(1).jpg

I'm North stand as well and if I'm honest I totally missed theirs as was following the ball. As for ours I saw somebody go down couldn't really tell if it was one of ours or one of theirs then I heard the roar from the south stand. My guess without seeing them again is that they are the type of incidents that are fouls everywhere on the pitch but never given as penalties. I'm happy if they are given from now on as grappling from set plays has been a bug bear of mine for a while now. Luke however will be praying these incidents are a one off as last season he'd have given one of these away a game.

Good question mind! No great tactician mesell mind, but I thought the game seemed to open up when we went for the winner in going two up top. Owt could have happened.

Then, we have Xhaka, turning up and taking the ball on the left wing and zipping in a cross for the winner!

Hope your lass is doing good mate<ok>

hard to tell which rules the ref will stick to, pretty sure there was to be a 'crack down' on these penalty area battles if a player was obstructed, hence the two pens today...will probably be different after the break a bit like the mega-added time they decided to have one season but as i said at least he was consistent.

Deserved shout out to the ref for consistency. Just being watching highlights of all today’s games and the refs doing announcements on why decisions are given is huge improvement for me.

Cheers lads. Not into tactics so good to hear your thoughts.

If yous dont mind. Talbi, whipped 2 decent crosses into the box on the break but no midfield runners. Just being cautious, just not up with play? None of the above <laugh>

It's clicking, played some good stuff, but thought we were naive/sloppy at times and will get punished. Would've liked to see more of Diarra personally (running power) but maybe just wasn't at it today.
