I think, with the win, it’s perfect timing. Let’s not **** about 6 from 9 is a great start, beyond expectation. We had to get a good haul early and we have, we’ve more that half what Saints got last season in 6% of the season. What’s really exciting is for me, we don’t look like a newly promoted sign when we play a team that wants to play. Burnley was always going to be a slogging match, far more games will be like today and West Ham and as we gel, as we grow that’s fine. At some point, mid range sides will try and Burnley us but we should have that fluidity by then, it’s really exciting. MASSIVE as well to go behind in the PL and come back. Now the lads don’t have any of that ‘**** we behind in the big league’ mental fatigue. We’ve already swatted aside one of the big hoodoos for promoted and struggling sides.
I just thought today was a really good game between Two well organised premier league sides. Not many clear cut opportunities for either side but down to the quality defending than anything else. Could have gone either so.delighted to win.
Just watching the goals back and there’s no way either of the pens were pens mind. But with one being given I’m glad the other was.
Although I thought Taylor was generally good he evened things up with our penna. At least he was consistent.
At the start of the season, who would've thought we would have 6 points from 9? An absolutely brilliant start IMO. I thought RLB's tactics were spot on today, Le Fee was immense and what a back pairing Alderete and Mukiele could turn out to be. And how Mukiele completed the full 90 mins after what seemed like a big knock on his ankle is impressive for a new lad - he wasn't giving up! Brentford for me were the best out of the 3 teams we've played this season, I thought they looked dangerous at times going forward. And I thought that Reinildo wasn't that good going forward? You couldn't stop him at times! MOTM was tough for me to pick, the whole team battled to get that win but I think I'll give it to Enzo. He just didn't stop all game and we've finally found someone who can take a penalty in a a league game! Now if I can just nail this nightshift!
Dont see the point in MOTD anymore. Ive watched the highlights on Sky Sports News and even the BBC Football website already. Didnt even had to sit through or fast forward any of the waffle.
Couldn’t agree more mate. In fact the only good thing about tonight’s MOTD is that the Mags will have to sit through the Sunderland match ... ... so they can watch themselves coming on last and failing to score
Completely agree Scout, except I would have one of the centre backs as motm, probably Alderete because Mukiele lost his man for their goal
I'm absolutely over the moon with today and thought the lads played well and showed some really good football in flashes. However to play devil's advocate, we had a massive wake up call today imo. When we were sloppy they punished us on the break (disallowed goal) and we'll play teams miles better than these. We still need work in the final 3rd but hopefully that will come as they gel. Break has probably cane at a good time tbh. Massive credit to them though, stuck in and got it done. Thoight ELF got better as it went on and was impressed with the 2 CB and Reinildo, Hume was sloppy but stuck in. Talbi was quiet but whipped in 2 good crosses but we didn't have the runners to capitalise. All good though, we weren't perfect but got the result. I said before we need approx 38 and we've got a good start to get them. HWTL
Just watched all the games in the highlight packages they’re showing on match of the day later. No punditry. No “banter”. It’s great
Just got up to see the result. Cracking result imo. Home form will be crucial to us staying up. Good to read all the positive comments on here too.
