I don't think Osula will ever be a decent Premiership striker. Tripps is well past his best. Barnes is due a good game. Elanga is supposed to be better than that. But Monday night has clearly had an effect on today's performance.
Did I say it would be easy? Did I say we definitely would be top 4? Yes, I did watch the game which is why I can see what and where the issues are. Also I’m capable of not panicking or going OTT on one game. I can also see what the Club are doing to address obvious issues. I can also recognise the effect that not having a goal threat up front has on the game and on other areas of the pitch. I also realise that you don’t play like 1970 Brazil in every game. We aren’t ‘way short’ either. We aren’t there yet but this transfer window has improved the squad and given better quality depth. There’s still time to improve further which hopefully we will. People were panicking early doors last season and look how that turned out. To write a season off after 3 games is simply ludicrous.
It’s simple. Howe is loyal and doesn’t like change. I said earlier that we had in the early second half a team with no signings in it. We didn’t lose so that’s the saving grace. Eddie has excuses. Isak. This time. Last time Injuries. But god forbid if he got it wrong. Which he did. I am a bit worried about this season currently.
I think the criticism is fair mate. We couldn’t hit a barn door against a championship promoted club. Where that blame lies is multi fold. It’s not just Eddies. But the club simply have to be better going from last season to this. The transfer window will end up being a good one but we didn’t make the right decisions and we are short term paying the consequences. Howe is not to blame for the lack of activity. But he pre planned this game with substitutes rather than reacting to circumstances. Roly got 3/4 of them right and at the right times also. Thats not good.
If this season is a train crash everyone will use Isak as the excuse. What about the other players they've spent hundreds and hundreds of millions on? That performance vs the money spent at the club was dreadful.
Folders forgets very conveniently that he used to criticise performances following wins under previous managers. There was no balance... I actually have ways being fair.. Credit when due and vice versa. I suppose a draw is a point on the board, but that was a poor once from the manager and the players...we all watched it with our own eyes.
It was but when you look at the starting line up we didn’t have 600m on the pitch which begs the question wtf from Howe. I think with this transfer windows spends and players bought the expectation should be top 6 and if we are miles away by Christmas then questions need to be asked then. We have had injuries and suspensions.
Here's a genuine question... The past few years the side had pretty much picked itself, so should the fact Howes never actually had any experience of managing a squad be a concern?
Honk that tends to support my views regarding performances. On performance the results are irrelevant. Therefore, if I have criticised previously after a win then that would suggest I’m looking at the actual performance rather than simply being swayed by the result. Also you might remember my not panicking early last season and, again, see how that turned out.
We're talking about the performance. Panicking is something you've invented.. What's happening is people are saying that was **** and giving an honest assessment.
So your ?saying we are way off it based on one game, you’re saying we’ll not make top 4 is actually an analysis of this performance and not a comment on the season. Strange, they don’t seem to be an analysis or comment on performance as opposed to panicking about the season. Anyway, I’ll leave you to it as it’s Saturday night and I’ve got a film to watch and some wine to drink. Salute.
