If we played like a bunch of strangers it's because that's what we are. As others have said, Bristol C have built a team over a few years now. Add to that some schoolboy defending, and you get today's result. Congrats to the not 606er who predicted 4-2 - think it was @b&sfanclub? Can you predict us some wins, please?

Our fanbase doesn’t buy and then loan or sell players after 6 months or a year
    The owner does

L1 is an untapped market and I don't understand Championship club's hesistancy in signing more players from there. That Bristol City side today had a heavy contingent of players to excel in L1, all of which were purchased for reasonable fees.

I'd seen Orient fans raving last year about Galbraith and Lincoln fans raving about Erhahon and both moved on for modest fees. Galbraith seems to be doing very well at Swansea. My point is that they're players who can improve you for modest fees and modest wages. The plus side being that if they don't work out too you can shift them on without still paying a chunk of their wages.

I agree. Kyprianou is another one and he went to Watford.

We just sign endless ****e from markets Acun pretends to be an expert in.

Didn't we sign somebody from League 1 last year? Let me think, what was his name, I know who it was - Kyle Joseph.

The problem is the gulf between Championship and L1, and it is getting wider. The transitition can take some time, as we have found out with Joseph who today, scored his 1st goal after 7 months.

Then again signing players from Turkey isn't great either.

This is the football I love' - reaction
Bristol City manager Gerhard Struber speaking to BBC Radio Bristol: "It was a really good atmosphere, the mood was good and I really liked the reaction to the goal we conceded.

"The character and mentality was great; this was the football I love, very diagonal and stressful [for Hull].

"In the second half, we needed Radek [Vitek], he did a great job. In the end, we deserved the win and I was really happy with how we dealt with challenging moments.

"The team was really good; how we reacted to the goal we conceded was the biggest impression from us."

    Media caption,
Struber: "This was exactly the football that I love"

Hull City manager Sergei Jakirovic speaking to BBC Radio Humberside: "I think we entered well in the game and scored but we had a lot of problems on the ball. Every mistake, they punished us.

"We were better in the second half. For 30 minutes we were good. We had three or four good chances, like the Oli McBurnie header but Vitek made a good save.

"We have problems in defence. We have to be better. We didn't stick to our tactical plan or football principles that we train with every day. That is why we lost the game.

"I don't have a problem losing the game, I have a problem when you go away from your principles. That is a bigger problem.

"In my opinion if we got to 3-2 it is a different game. This is football, their goalkeeper was great today.

"We have conceded 12 goals in four games. It is a lot and we need to improve everything in defence."

I swear I read that his final year at Posh was rough so maybe that put people off.

We signed Charlie Hughes though too, so even if you say we got the pair for £5/6m, it's still good business. Even if you throw Kamara in there, it's still decent business as he was top of our goal contributions last season

For the record, the Kyle Joseph fee did look overpriced at the time. It was a lot of money for someone who'd only had a decent 6 months but we were desperate.

    The managers
    Bristol City's Gerhard Struber:

"I think we should have two more points because we had a painful moment conceding late at Derby, but overall I am very pleased with the progress the team are making.

"We reacted to Hull's early goal by playing just the sort of football I love, very powerful and showing a lot of bravery.

"It is important for strikers to score goals so I am very pleased for Emil Riis, but he gives us so much more with his link-up play.

"His control of the ball is so good that when the ball is played up to him we expect to keep possession and that is absolutely vital."

    Hull's Sergej Jakirovic:

"It was a great match for the crowd, but for us coaches a game like that is a nightmare.

"The information from my analyst is that we conceded possession in our own half 25 times in the first half.

"I had a talk with my players at half-time and for 30 minutes in the second half we were better. Their goalkeeper has made an unbelievable save and had we scored then it would have been a different game.

"I am very happy for Kyle Joseph that he has scored his first goal because he works very hard and made a difference to our team play in the second half.

"But we had 11 players behind the ball when they scored their fourth goal and I find that unacceptable.

"Individual mistakes happen in football and I am not criticising players for that. What bothers me is that we gave up from our basic football principles. You cannot lose your head every time you concede a goal."

On the plus side, there will be less clubs looking at Pandur and Hughes now.

    Lundstrams problem today was Slater!

Slater was exposed last year for the level he is at. He was carried the previous year.

Take 100k for him and move on!

Two plusses from today, we had more shots on target than them, and how often have we been able to say that in the last few seasons. Also, Pandur clearly wants to stay as he did his best today to put off any buyers.

Midfield is so unbalanced with just Lundstram offering defensive cover. He needs help that Crooks was providing.

My only slight positives are that we don’t look toothless going forward, bar a few good saves from their keeper we may have dragged ourselves back into it.

Mo getting another 25 mins and he looked bright.

Sergej needs to tweak something or he’s heading into Slutsky territory

He was injured last year and playing with a foot injury-this season he is a class act -quicker in the run-devastating free kicks and looks much fitter-key player for us.

Amir - if he comes - for Slater will be a start (or as you say a fully fit Crooks)
