Nice. Honestly, while you're there, try and take in a J-League game if there is one. You'll be surprised at just how good the quality is.

To be fair, if your midfielders cant keep the ball or impact the game, then you'll always end up seeing defensive "issues" cos the attacks keep coming. They had 17 shots in the first half, and that's not only on the defence

tbf....I'd rather lose a game 4-2 like that where we've created a lot than lose 1-0 or 2-0 without troubling their keeper.....obv not the only options but the fact we continue to create gives me hope

The goals flying in are a worry obviously but at least we look like scoring at the other end. Be pleased when the transfer window shuts and we can settle down and decide on our strongest team. At the moment it looks like we are still finding out our best formation and who plays best in which position. Watched Boro v Sheff Utd earlier and I wasn't impressed with either of them. Bristol City today would have beaten both of them put together and we looked better then them both even on todays display.

Agreed, as I said in midfield we are horrifically light.

Hadžiahmetović makes a difference but not enough, in my opinion. Not having Puerta or Laalaoui is a big miss and we’ve no way of adding depth, even on free transfers or loans. If Hadžiahmetović and/or Lundstram get injured, we’re back to square one.

Bristol City have Randell, Bird, Williams and Knight as their main central midfielders. All of them are athletic and mobile enough to cover a lot of ground for 90 minutes. Any one of them walks into our current starting XI.

    No whoosh.

It was a continuation of Ehab’s Members comment about 3 weeks ago some posters were saying we’d sorted out our fullback problems and someone commented that Williams might not sign as he was unlikely to get a game.

A fit Brandon Williams walks into this team.

    On either side.

Why didn’t we sign Max Bird anyway?

I think Bristol City look a very decent side(even on a tricky/greasy pitch)...They could be absolutely lethal on a dry/decent surface and they're gonna hand out a few more drubbings going forward.

It's true,we do look dangerous in attack but defensively we're all over the place and he needs to be getting a grip on that side of our game or we're bottom half also-rans again and we'll chop and change more players ...That's clearly not helping season upon season.

Your midfield just can’t do this, I’m afraid. It’s basically 5-0-4-1.

    Looking at it
We almost could get to Japan v Brazil but not quite, so we’ll see if we have a free gap.
A Tokyo Verdi game is a possibility at the moment

Hoping the Bosnian is more of a 6 so Lundstram can play his natural role

Good question. The defence can only really push up in settled possession, which that phase of play wasn’t. The onus is on the midfield line to drop back so there aren’t huge spaces between the lines.

Its been a problem in every game
Happens often on edge of area when defenders are towards 6 yard box

I don’t know when in the game that pic was taken, but it can happen when we get caught on the break. Risk and reward I guess.
