Obviously a disappointing end to the game but that was a cracking free kick into the top bin. We are a work in progress and we were disrupted in our preparation today, with sicknote dropping out. I’ve said it before. After 8 games, two seasons ago, we were on 10 points. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
There's really positive signs though. Once Fellows and Jander come in, it'll be a very different proposition. Azaz looks like we finally have a player that looks to slot balls into those channels, so our strikers will come alive too.
Apparently so, but really, so what. It's not even September! I mean, look at "going to steamroller the league this year" Ipswich...
I am surprised at the negativity. We looked solid except for two moments which on another day the opponents miss. That despite having to change line up right before kick off. We created a lot of chances and on another day are clear of danger. And Watford have a truly sensational talent in that Australian lad.
I'd have liked to see one of Stewart or Downes on to give us an out ball and the option to go long. We kept trying to pass our way out and failing with no means of relieving the pressure.
That might have helped, but what we really needed was some steel in the middle. Caspar would have given that. Or Downes.
Yeah agreed. But when that option doesn't exist you should still try something else imo, you don't just sit and wait for the inevitable.
I agree, but Still probably saw that Watford hadn’t actually made any good chances so was a little slow to make that change.
Which is the point at which things start taking shape. Anyone who thinks Boro are going to win the league with Ipswich 20th needs their head examined.
Was a decent game. Proper championship game and draw the fair result. Utterly horrific away end though. Worst I've been in for a long time.
