Just to remind everyone, this time last Champ season we were on an awful losing run and getting thrashed. It is very difficult around the transfer deadline. I am feeling increasingly confident we will have a very good season.
Yeah, hoping the 2 week break makes us look a lot better than we’ve looked all season. Take the point after the disruption today/last week of window, just have to hope we look a lot better once everything settles down.
Disappointing to draw that after leading twice, but there are the makings of something there, especially when the new signings come in and the team settles. Two weeks now to work on the training pitch with them...hopefully it all falls into place in 15 days time.
You are including Ipswich away and Watford away, plus Stoke who were on fire. League table irrelevant right now.
They lose at home loads. More than half of their games since the middle of last season. Very poor result.
It’s a disappointing one, considering we had the early lead, but we’re not a finished, settled team so to get out of “Pre-Season Plus” and make it to the end of the window with the results we’ve had are nothing more or less than fine. A relegated side is a big question mark until the window closes, so I think there’s enough to be positive about so far.
We looked good in parts, still got a few more days left of the transfer window and still got to integrate the newbies. Azaz looked good (out of position) and a striker scored. Overall, ok IMO, but not the start we hoped for, but rather expected. Remember those that are down on us that the prize is being tonked every week in the PL.....
It's really not a bad point. Azaz looks like he'll make a real difference. The bench was a bit unbalanced today - we could really have done with the likes of Casper to bring on to shore up the midfield a bit once Finn tired. Right now it's about not losing these games whilst we get the squad sorted and settled.
We still concede far too many goals. Was hoping Still would make us more solid but no signs of that. Maybe today was never going to be the day we tighten up with a makeshift midfield. We are behind Pompey in the league for the first time in a very very long time.
Did you watch that game? They played very well and deserved their point. Not a poor result at all. They will finish top half easily.
You'd hope for 4 points from those games instead of 1, but we've lost one game so far whilst being "not good enough".
Draws are a killer at the top end though. When we're in the PL, a draw is one point gained. When we're in the Championship, a draw is two points dropped.
Disappointing result especially after taking the lead the second time. Their second was stunning though it has to be said. Still plenty of positives to take from that though imo. Azaz looks a good signing and Archer full of confidence. Didn't think he should have went off tbh. Thought Still was too slow to react to the game changing before their first personally. It seemed obvious for quite a while that the tide had turned and to me a matter of time before they scored.
Ps. Anyone think Matsuki looks a bit of a character with his wild challenges and the way he celebrated like he had scored when Manning did?!
