Whether you agree or not with the final decision the time taken to make the penalty decision is far too long, to then get it wrong is unforgivable

 

I agree VAR is too high a price.

It isn't. The referees make loads of mistakes in real time and VAR corrects about 90% of the important ones while adding a few additional mistakes. So the consequence of VAR is that fewer mistakes are made and that has to be a good thing.

 

It really hasn't unless you are happy with deliberate handballs gaining world cup qualifications.
However the Laws could be changed to make it much easier for referees. Forbid players from appealing for example.

 

Goal line and offside decisions are black and white so VAR all other decisions are opinion and showing incidents slow motion alters perceptions . In these situations VAR just spoils the game.

 

Or leave the decision on whether to use var to the ref

 

Most VAR decisions are entirely obvious and correct. The few that are not are not the issue. Hard cases make bad law.

 

That would be better...but I prefer the Rugby Union approach where the video is discussed live with the assistant refs involved.

 

I don't accept that you see MOST decisions. Unless all you do is watch football

 

I see a reasonable sample. Obviously the controversial ones get all the air time.

 

You can't make an argument based on numbers unless you see ALL of them

 

I can say that VAR has ruined this game.

 

Both of Chelsea s goals are contentious and so is Fulhams lack of 1.

The game is therefore ruined

 

They will keep VAR because the media love it.
