exciting game at Grimsby... 14 -13!!!! they were so much quicker but 2-0 is a good result ......... 4 month's to next distraction ...but 2/3? breaks!
Scoring is our problem yet again. Our approach play isn't too bad but our finishing is dreadful..needs addressing.
It’s not just finishing though is it, it’s not like we miss a load of chances, we don’t create enough in the final third. One of the commentators tonight hit the nail on the head, he said we make nice patterns, but don’t create anything.we have to start creating opportunities,
Greetings from Majorca. 1 goal in our last 3 games is poor, especially apparent in our home game against Charlton. Unless we get a free kick just outside the opposition box for Twine we haven't looked like scoring.
Scoring goals is going to bite us on the ass big time again this season-fell a sleep watching that last night -alful football.
Awful football indeed RR but I couldn't help but notice that the 2 managers were in deep conversation after the final whistle - loans maybe? We sure as heck need some life back in the team because our results and performances are going down the toilet quickly and so it's absolutely critical to get all 3 points at home to Hull City on the weekend. The early alarm bells will start chiming and the top brass need to listen to what they are saying because we need goal scorers right now so you tell Gerhard we don't need another defender from his ex-team as we are well suited at that position I think. Can you hear it?
He has signed for a german side-no strikers arriving we are in the ****. Wells was the only striker that was scoring last seasons with the headless chicken Mehemeti.
Another manager just like Nige and Manning that can see the issues -but the people running the show don't seem to grasp or see the issues.
I have thought for quite some time now that our ownership/management are only interested in success that doesn't cost any money. Think back how many times we have believed that a certain type of player would fit our needs but the brass just sit around doing absolutely nothing and the team stagnates through the remainder of the season. Having said that I still wonder who the spanner in the works is behind the scenes causing mayhem with our transfers and even the targets we claim to be after usually disappear up the drainpipe. Will we or won't we that is the question.
Where is the money to buy all these players you three want? Yes we wasted a bit last summer with the two punts. But surely by now you three may grasp it’s down to running inside FFP for us. We don’t have another £10 million player on our hands, so we are left with taking punts on players like Mayulu and Armstrong ( that one was madness in my opinion) and Yu. We gambled and failed that summer. Next seasons accounts won’t have Scott’s transfer on them. We’ve constantly got to live in the buy cheap and sell markets unless we go up or down. If we didn’t sell Semenyo cheaply that year would have taken us over the FFP limit and led to points deductions. Scott’s gave us breathing space to gamble. Or would you rather an owner like Sheff Wednesday and few others that are floating around. Like the Hull owners on transfer embargo’s.
I’m only wanting one player and that’s a half decent striker I was hoping we could offload a few of our donkeys to bring in someone but it appears no one wants them !
And that is true, but that has been done for donkey years now. Cornick was bought by NP, Armstrong and Mayulu ( who will improve in my opinion just not here) by Manning. LJ before saddled us with loads of them. Our changing point was Ashton and LJ spending on players like it was sweet shop time. That’s when it started the ball rolling to this tightrope on FFP. I know the argument of LJ was higher placed etc, but the financial impact has hampered us. (Notice the common denominator here. The Lansdown’s place their trust in ex players)
Issue we have at the moment is we are scouting a player who is back up to Riis. It’s not like a lot of players in that position are looking to join a club as back up much difference to ones we currently have. Ideal scenario would be someone who wants to push Riis to be number one choice. Just they cost more than the 2 million punts we have already. What we are forgetting is we traded early summer. We got Riis, good purchase upgrade on aging Wells. Randall looks a good signing. Lumley who is an upgrade on previous back up keeper. Vitek excellent loan signing whilst Max gets over his op. Would love Vitek to stay but we know in Jan Man Utd will take him back, looking at who’ve they got in goal.
Riss has not set the world alight as yet-he needs competition apart from the sheff utd game been bang average in my opinion.
