Goal keeper ain’t the problem. We struggle across the whole pitch. We have great players to never to lose to Grimsby. As far as I can remember, teams have always scored against us. But we would come back so strong.

The system of 3 at the back isn’t suited to football in the country, but the manager knows best so he’ll keep playing it until….

You clearly didn't see last night's game.

    Or the Europa league final.

Or the CL group stages under Ten Hag.

He literally costs us games, big ones. Often.

The man who selected him cost us the game!

Every game will now become a psychological warfare. And every time we have entered one of these as a club in recent years, the results have consistently remained the same, or far worse. We have spent a lot of money, and if we don't start performing, we will begin to face a financial crunch.

I genuinely fear for the club.

A bad keeper is like a contagion, a lack of confidence at the back stops defenders from moving forward - a key element in Amorim's strategy and from that point forward his entire system fails. Look back in time, you didn't see Bruce, Vidic or Stam hovering near the 18 yard box - did they bollox, they knew their keep-r had complete mastery of the box, it was their role playing out to move the ball to attacking players - Onana is like a **** magnet, he hesitates, he draws the opposition towards him and reduces the safe space into which forward balls could be played - for all the percentage losses at risk, any keeper these days would be as well hoofing it up field - the risks of losing possession on the halfway line carry far less a risk on goal of faffing about the 18 yard box and inviting an immediate threat on goal

If he is so bad, which he certainly is, why is he still at the club? Why is the success or failure of the team flatly on the shoulders of players that don’t pick themselves to play?

Mainoo is now looking to leave. Garnacho is gone! We can’t manage any of the home grown talents. To make matters worse, we bring in good players for millions, and we rapidly turn them into average players. We lose value on homegrown players and we destroy the value of those that come in. Absolute vicious cycle!

I see Jose is available............ Joking apart, in all honesty I would take two seasons of Jose, chaos and all, rather than continue with this turgid crap that Amorim is serving up.

"Sometimes I hate my players" "Sometimes I want to quit" - Why do we defend anyone that comes out saying sht like this? I would dare not say that about my job in public at work. Like wtf?!

I would take Jose any day! At least we won games under Jose's chaos. This is worse. It is a quiet mega-chaos.

So, a bloke who has just been sacked seems a good a idea to replace our manager, who hasn't been.

For actual **** sake, throw Ole in the mix while you're at it, he's just been sacked as well.

Great ideas these guys, these will solve everything.

I would think we need to see how tomorrow goes.

If we don't win, he'll walk anyway.

If he plays Onana, he deserves to be sacked.

If he shows some flexibility of formation, he needs to continue. It has been two league games and one banana skin, everyone is jumping on the media (all types of) outrage and narrative. It's absolutely ****ing ludicrous.

So what if he more or less said he'll walk if it continues, at least he's being up front and honest.

And how can anyone say, and expect to be taken seriously, that he's making new signings worse in a matter of games? Have you even seen what those new players are playing like?

The important issue is that by coming out with this crap he is essentially handing power to the dressing room. Any malcontents or players getting it in the ear from the boss now know there is a means to get rid of him - its professional suicide. Its all well and good being candid when you wield the power like Fergie did - every player under him knew it was his way or the highway but when you have the likes of Rashford, Sancho and Garnacho lurking in the wings still, no doubt in WhatsApp groups with younger players or language cohorts, they can easily sow seeds and discontent festers. Amorim can't put the whole squad up for sale, so if he ****s someone off enough they can play poorly just to see him off.

When he came out with the words "the players have spoken loudley" i wondered if some of the senior players might have told him thatwe are not readdy for his system yet so need to change to something we know to get points on the board.

That's how I first interpreted it.

Then all the stuff about it meaning he'll quit came along, and it could also be heard like that.

Will see how tomorrow goes, eh?

What he says in his presser today, which is also open to interpretation, obviously, and not to be taken absolutely literally without the full text, doesn't sound like someone about to quit.

The manager is meant to be the leader of the team. How can any player respect him when he says he hates them and he wanted to resign.

He actually needs to just shut up and get on with things.

I’ve never known a manager come out with so much negativity in press conferences.

Sometimes I hate my players, sometimes I love my players.

    The actual quote.

    Not the same, is it.

Unless the players are all eight years old and take things absolutely literally.

    They aren't though.

I know what the actual quote was , it’s the fact he said it in the first place. There’s one thing thinking this, but actually saying it.

Would Ferguson have ever said that?
Would Klopp have ever said that?
    Same with Mourinho.

his constant negativity is uncalled for.

We all know that we can’t come out and say things that we are thinking when it comes to work. He’s a manager of massive club, but opens his mouth as though he’s in a therapy session with his wife. His response to adversity is atrocious and it is killing the team and how anyone can defend him in itself ridiculous. We will rather look for who to blame… this player, that player, the media, etc. everyone except for Amorim because his system is so innovative no one fkin gets it in the league.

At this point in time, there is no doubt that he’s out of his depths, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with acknowledging this.

But hey, knowing how everything around the club turns into a farce, this will probably drag on until we’ve completely destroyed yet anyone fkin season even with all the great players in the squad. Very unfortunate!
