He was here a while, he didn’t miss his chances on purpose and if you are on supposedly £90k a week and the club say you’ll have to train with the U21s I’d stick two fingers up as well

To pay him off you’ve got to pay the wages you’d pay if he remained, seems a bit of a strange decision

They probably struck a deal for a lump sum payment, he can now move on and maybe get a signing on fee.

As frustrating as he could be on the pitch he is a good man and I wish him all the best <ok>

He missed chances because he was not good enough - save for a glorious period during the 2020-21 season when he was in the form of him life and got a lucrative contract renewal, that in subsequent season, he did nothing to justify.

Like many footballers on lucrative contracts, he put $$$ in front of career. Side before self ? Not a chance.

Fans sending death threats and wishing harm to his family, he owed us nothing

He accepted what he was offered by the club and who would turn down a pay rise when given the opportunity of taking one?

The disrespect this man is getting on here is outrageous. He’s a Leeds legend for me and a top bloke considering all the **** he’s had. He’s part of the Bielsa era of a team that got us up after 16 years of teams and players that couldn’t. Had a great season in the PL and took a contract, since then he was riddled with injuries which he wouldn’t want and isn’t his fault either. He’s been told he’s not part of the squad and people expect him to leave for free? No one would do this for an employer.

Those so called "fans" were no representative of the Leeds United fan base
He took an exceptionally good salary for years - I'd say that means he owed the club something.

I don't blame him for agreeing the new contract, I blame him for not seeking a new club when it was apparent that he was not earning his lucrative contract.

Not his fault he got injuries, which might have been due to pushing his body to the limit in our first promotion season. Secondly, would you leave your current job and take a pay cut just to keep your present employer happy?

Timing is good. It’s a huge salary off the payroll which will hopefully fund a couple of loanees like the Brighton lad. Can see Mes going same way in net day or two
