Vuskovic having his medical ahead of a loan to Hamburg, as per Plettentwerp

Meanwhile, Bisosuma to Galatasaray is reportedly off as per Sacha Tavolieri, apparently forgetting that whole "Wants the UK passport he's one year shy of" thing

Apparently our timing for summer transfers over the last 10 years is as follows (according to a post elsewhere)...
Beginning of Window (June – early July)
    ~27 signings
    Middle of Window (mid-July – mid-August)
    ~22 signings
    End of window
    ~7 signings

I'm baffled by the Simons links.

Frank was very clear after the Eze debacle that he only wants players who want Spurs.

So we go and bid £70m for a player who has had his eye on Chelsea for two months.

The only way to know whether he prefers us to Chelsea is to give him the option.

    Eminently sensible.

I prefer getting worked up over nothing.

I thought I wouldn't miss the frustration, but apparently not.

I think Xavi Simons will be a great fit for us. Skillful, excellent passer and vision and a goal scoring threat too.
Predominantly a 10 but can play off the left from time to time.

Get him and Ake and I think it would end up being a very good window.

Chelsea have agreed a fee of £40M for Garnacho.
    They can’t sign everybody

    Why Chelsea?

dreams of winning the conference league or world club cup?

    chasing the money

I’m not convinced with this kids attitude for us

Hope it’s not another desperate Levy offering as opposed to a Frank wanting

They've spent over half a billion quid just on wingers in three years.

They don't agree with your assessment.

Money and trophies. You get both at Chelsea. Spurs not so much

I obviously hope I’m wrong about Simons but I just have a really bad gut feeling he won’t cut it in the Prem.

Of all the attacking mids we’ve been linked with, he’s the first where I’ve thought I’d rather we go elsewhere. Would’ve loved Eze, can’t even deny that one hurt, MGW would’ve been welcomed, Rogers is a player I’d also love, Paqueta’s a good player and all of these are obviously proven in the league. There’s just something about Simons though where I think he’ll struggle with the pace and physicality over here, Bundesliga is sort of like the Prem-lite with the pace being nothing like England and many players who’ve hit similar stats as Simons have struggled over here. Don’t think he’ll quite be Lo Celso/ Ndombele bad but I fear for £60m+ and a supposed £200k a week wage, we'll end up feeling a little short changed should he join (which he probably won’t, lol).

IF it goes through, I pray my judgement of him is the poorest call I’ve made in football, if he goes Chelsea I pray it’s one of the best!

    Yessss!

That’s exactly how I view him in that sort of Depay style. Stat pads where it’s easier to do so but in the big boy league could get found out.

    I agree with this.

As far as I can see, the Bundesliga has declined significantly in recent seasons - particularly in the defensive aspects of the game - which is one of the reasons Harry can hit 40 a season barely breaking sweat.

So much so that I wouldn't actually be that bothered if Chelsea do a Willian.

Massive risk but lost out on the prem proven targets so it might be a risk the club has to take.

Honestly think Akiouche is probably the weakest of targets, because when his agent is asking for a £15m finder's fee to get the deal across the line that's the sort of thing which has me highly suspicious that he might be missing a foot and his agent is trying to cash out the one chance he has

Also has to be said our record with Ligue 1 midfielders has been decidedly dodgier compared to those from Serie A or the Eredivisie...or about eight other leagues I could mention
