Well we move on from a football lesson at Fulham last night to the more important issues of the championship and requiring 3 points to keep us on the toes of the leading pack.

So far it has been a mixture of good-average-poor football.

The season started with a bang at sheff utd with the 4-1 win- however the last three games have been at best average to poor.
Clearly the powers that be must see the issues up front as we the fans see it - i do hope they rectify the problems before the window closes or we are in for another long hard season scoring goals.

This problem has been apparent for at least three seasons and yet Ashton Gate and the expectant fan base does not see any improvements in that particular area of the pitch. The two gambles of Maylu and Armstrong have not worked. You buy in Pound shop then you get what you get.

I was not a big fan of Wells and thought it was right the right time for him to move on-however Bristol City have not addressed the goals he scored.

Against Hull we need to see a vast improvement with a fully committed eleven giving their all and three points come 4;45pm on Saturday.

Struber knows the issues and has put the names on the table both in the striker and l/b positions it is all down to the owners to release the funds or we could be in for a bumpy old ride this season.
Hopefully moving on some of the deadwood in the striking department giving Struber some room to bring in a couple of players.

Bristol CITY 3 Hull City 1 still keeping the faith at present.

Looking back at the starting eleven against Fulham and the bench subs tells me in strong terms that we are not up to snuff in the Championship again. The 4-1 demolition of Sheff Utd was a great beginning but since then the wheels have come loose and we have retrograded back to our usual pathetic performances of the last few seasons. Will we do anything, other than sell off our top assets, during what's left of this transfer window or will we sit back as usual and expect miracles? I think we have done a couple of decent deals over the summer in Riis and Randell but why on earth we continue with Armstrong and Mayulu beggars belief because they are not up to par in this division. I hope Gerhard is not expecting management to offer up any assistance in building a competitive squad because, as many before him, he will find out soon enough the lack of such niceties at Ashton Gate because we do things the Bristol City way as recently reported. In the last 3 games. I have seen all of the faults of way too many seasons reappear with horror wondering why those that count the beans and shake the branches aren't doing their jobs properly, and yet most of them are still employed?

Another frustrating draw is on the cards for me.
I hope I’m wrong - last game to watch from the Costa Del Sol for a while - my youngest and her WHU supporter fiancé will be with us and I’d love a win to get us back in the mix, but I’ve been a City fan too long to have any belief.

If nothing happens by the end of the week we are in for a turgid season.

We all know the issues, but Struber can only work with what he’s got available.

...and I suspect that what's available is nothing, or even less. <doh>
