To be fair, I'd have been looking to take him off as well! Normally his short balls disappear over the legside for 6, but this pitch suits it a bit more.
I'm starting to get worried now, Middx can't do it again can they?! Come on, 9 down now Hants please.
An excellent example of why re-assessing what a good score could be and batting out the overs is so important. 229 proved to be a winning score, 200 may not have.
I reckon Fuller will be available on Sunday if NSC lose on Saturday. But if they win on Saturday, then I suspect he won't be available because they will want to take him to Lords on Sunday just in case they need to pick him in an emergency. If he isn't available, then Albert comes in for him and we go down to five bowlers. If he is available, then I would probably leave out Brown in order to accommodate Albert. If Baker and/or Currie are available, I would play them ahead of Jack/Wheal. My guess is that Wood, Howell and Vince won't be considered. Wood hasn't played a 50 over match since the 2019 final. And Vince and Howell haven't played the format for a while either.
Well done lads, early wickets against Yorkshire and they'll be under pressure. Their top order has fired so far but hopefully we can put a stop to that on Sunday. I wonder if there's anyone else to bring back in? Wheal hasn't been firing on all cylinders in the last few games but they'll probably stick with the same side.
Malan, Root, Rashid and Brook will all play at the Oval on Saturday. So they can be ruled out of featuring for Yorkshire. But any of Bairstow, Thompson and Chohan could in theory play.
Excellent result! Let's hope that was the first of two wins this week for a Hampshire-based sports team, playing in the Watford area
