Dortmund H. PSG A. Villarreal H. Frankfurt A. Slavia Prague H. Bodo A. Copenhagen H. Monaco A. Visit to Eric Dier and a roaming rapist.
Not a terrible draw, lots of familiar faces Dortmund, Frankfurt, Bodo and Monaco have all featured against us in recent years, and no horrific away journeys. We will need to be winning the 4 home games
Have to say, I was thinking initially only of group stage humiliation mitigation but not reaching the KO stages, but that draw has been kind to Spurs on both opposition and travel. Depending on the fixture schedule, we could actually reach the KO stage WITH SAVVY squad management.
Not the most glamorous set of games so dissapointing in that sense but standard wise, not a bad draw.
To be fair it’s harder to go out than it is to make the knock outs. I think we’d have made the playoffs whomever we got drawn against.
You think, with the best squad roster as it will be til Feb 2026, would at worst finish W5/D1/L2, against any combination of opponents that could have been drawn ??
Well, away to PSG is horrific but at least that’s the first game rather than the last. Still, on paper we have a favourable draw compared to the other PL teams.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024–25_UEFA_Champions_League#Bracket Spurs will play 3 teams who were in the playoff games last season.
If PSG and Dortmund get scheduled for any combo of match rounds 1/2/7/8, then the gods really are on Spurs side.
Not sure which home game out of Villarreal, Prague and Copenhagen you can’t see us winning then two away games are against teams we beat last season. Dortmund are good to get at home and Monaco isn’t a bad draw either. Only PSG you can probably say we have very little chance. Who we get in the playoffs is pot luck as to whether we make it further but no way are we not finishing in the top 24.
Happy with that not bothered about glamour that will come if we get far give me some results and further qualification BOOM!
