if we could get a fee for him then he should be off, think he's behind a few young lads, Tinsdale, McCarthy and Brown and there's no point in extending his stay here in 12 months from what I've seen
I'd probably agree with that. Nil chance of getting a fee for him however I wouldn't think. Needs a loan this year, then we either release him, or take the year option and either integrate him or sell him. All depends on how he did on loan of course
Hopefully H's medical goes smoothly today and his signing is wrapped up. Then Furlong and Vaughan out on loans or permanents freeing up space for possibility of 2 signings to further strengthen where needed, then we're good to go. Decent window if that happens. Should speed up the sale that's been bubbling away for more than a year now . In all seriousness now #noreally. Some may remember that I posted end of April before it broke that Selles was on his way. I started doubting the source in the last few days before it was confirmed on 15th May. From pretty much the horses mouth, as we all know, Acun has been open to incoming investment so long as he retains a controlling interest )yes, unlikely to happen). He's had 2 'unsolicited' approaches to take over control of the club that he's rejected as he doesn't want to hand over control. As 1 or 2 others have said, I couldn't care less who believes this or not. There you go.
It's a random German journo though, same one who tweeted that he'd been offered to Bremen a few weeks ago. I don't believe it at all. Regardless of the source, why would West Ham want yet another keeper anyway? They want one who's good with his feet, which Pandur isn't.
If it turns out to be concrete and it happens, apart from the obvious issue of finding a replacement and allowing him time to settle,I'd worry about another reasonable asset being sold off and possibly replaced by a loanee. Any word of when we complete the final piece of the jigsaw and flog Hughes???
I'd hope any deal, if it's happening, would involve a loan fee free keeper moving the other way for a season edit....they've just spent 20m on the lad from Leicester haven't they....wtf are they thinking, got areola and foderingham too....Wes could be a sacrificial lamb there.....experience at champ level for dem blades and as 4th choice would be surplus to requirements. Utd fans though he was **** tho!
This £100 million squad(his words not mine) is gonna be worth two and a tanner if we keep shipping out assets and replacing with loans.?
Can you please outline which reasonable assets have been sold and replaced with loans this summer? I can't think of any, so not sure how doing that would complete the puzzle?
Difference being Gelhardt made it clear he wanted to come here and play. Darlow probably happy to sit on the bench getting his £30k per week or whatever he is on. Even if Darlow agreed to leave TWS there's no guarantee a) he'd come here b) we want him c) we could afford some / all of his wages
Aye so my point still stands. I suppose at a push you could say Alzate out for Lundstram, but we'd have 100% gone for Lundstram on a perm if it weren't for the restriction, and likely will next summer all being well.
Not loans, but cashing in on 2 reliable centre backs and replacing with crocked free transfers is indicative of a club that's having to raise funds to to business also.
Newcastle got top 5 with one of the worst goalkeepers in the entire professional top 4 divisions with his feet. Not every team needs relies on a goalkeeper to get them playing ffs. One of the worst parts of modern football
You only need to look at our current squad to see the trend...Sell anything that's not bolted down and replace with a free or a loanee. This
