Paul's Boutique was a pretty revolutionary album, nobody in rap was doing anything like the Beastie Boys. It's hard to pick a fave, I loved Licenced to Ill and bought that on vinyl when it came out. Made a legend of myself at school by making tapes of that for all of my mates. And the heavy use of Roland 808 drum machine on that album is a big tick for me. But Check your Head was probably my fave in terms of the number of absolute bangers on it. It also came out when I was heavily into the festival scene and it was kind of a backdrop to that whole era for me. Shake your rump on Paul's boutique, is probably my fave track. But on Hey Ladies at 2:07 (on the album version) I made a whole song for my band out of nicking that bass line lol. Or as my band mates call it when they nick something 'I'm referencing this piece of music'
Do any of you want music being played as you leave this earthly plane ? I don't mean at your funeral, but as you prepare to leave your body and ascend into the ether, or whatever you believe happens to you after you die. My Dad wanted Glen Campbell on in the background, so that's what we did. This is the album I want played as I join the ancestors...
