    It’s difficult to call the first significant manager sacking of the season. Potter, Amorim, Martin and Selles all making excellent cases for themselves.

    Amorim spoke about being willing to walk away last season and was talked round.

    There was a sense of foreboding about his comments after Wednesday evening's debacle.

    "I felt my players spoke really loud today what they want," he said.

    "No," Amorim added, when asked if he understood what had happened to his team at Blundell Park. "But I'm the manager. It should be my job to understand what happened."

    I thought he was playing draughts, or flicking through the sticky pages of a Mayfair or a Penthouse...Do they still sell those types of mags? Reminds me of working for HCC in the draughtsman's office, some years ago, and coming across this guys porn stash he kept in a three drawer metal cabinet. His feet wouldn't touch the ground today!

    So we're still in August and the only chance Man U have of a trophy this season is the FA Cup (same as us, really <laugh>). Wonder when was the last time you could say that? Mid 70's maybe, when they got relegated to the 2nd division for one season? You can understand them leaving a few players on the bench last night, though - they've got a relegation 6 pointer against Burnley at the weekend <laugh><laugh>
