On paper that isn't a bad team, apart from the two young kids at the back everyone else is a full international. We know Mainoo, Amad, Sesko and Cunha are good players, even Maguire for all the stick he gets is actually a decent (or was) defender. That's a line up in previous years would have been considered a good Man U team for an EPL match. For this team to be struggling as badly as it is cancelled only reflect on the manager.
It's totally on the manager. All these so called great coaches, need the board to buy them the players they want to fit the system they want the team to play. How about actually coaching the players to play in a system that suits the players at their disposal?
I remember that game, live on ITV on a Sunday lunchtime, Roger Thames trying to commentate when a simple 5 yard pass stopped dead after about 6 feet because of the water! I think it was abandoned straight after that!
Long time for Grimsby to hold on unfortunately. Had a goal ruled out (correctly I think) not long before Man U goal.
Ive always hated Man Utd since i was a teenager and i got talking to an old bloke in a pub about them. It was late 90s and he said to me. The thing i hate about United is any other fanbase in the country you can talk football and have a good conversation with them. Speak to a United fan and they wont talk about any other team but themselves. Never a truer word and ive hated them since.
Growing up in the 90s and early 00s and their domination was hell. to see this fall from grace is superb
