Aye. He does not look comfortable there at all. But if there is anything in the two game thing, then no wonder they are in bother. It is a stupid notion. Either he is your man, then support him. Or he isn't, then replace him.
I agree, though I still think it's more likely that he gets the bullet after the Celtic game at the weekend. Don't know why, but I get the feeling that the owners will try to give him time, but a heavy defeat in the old firm game would be too much and risk the fans turning on them. It might simply be that there's no one there to replace him so quickly. But Christ, he was appointed in June and could easily be sacked before August is finished. It's almost Clough at Leeds levels of brevity.
"The only words that Russell Martin can say that would brighten the spirits of Rangers fans is "I quit"
I don't think they'll wait until after the Celtic game. Would give Celtic fans the ammo to say "We got him the sack". I think he'll be gone tomorrow or 2 weeks time.
It's why that despite tonight's humiliation I think the Rangers board will give him time. A bit like us with Beale, it's clearly a mistake but give him a chance to turn it round, though it literally may only be a matter of weeks at most. I remember the talk before the Stoke match that if he lost then, he was out and that was at the end of January and he only lasted another 3 weeks. I could be wrong, but I think they'll give him a few more weeks, a defeat to Celtic will be bad, but a narrow 1 or 2 goal loss could be survivable. However, a 4,5,6 goal loss, which they look capable of, would be a different matter and anger would also go towards to board about it. He's a dead man walking, but to me it hinges on how badly it goes on Sunday. He's already come out tonight and said that they'd not lose 6-0 again. If that did happen against Celtic there could be no way back. If the avoid defeat or only lose by the odd goal or 2 he might get a month tops to turn it round. Whatever, Sunday will be interesting.
