It’s an obvious response to a coordinated attempt to wipe out Israel. They’ve had offers and rejected them because they’re quite happy being perpetual victims but badly overplayed their hand this time. Pandering to them now would be stupid which is quite a big part of the reason why it’ll happen and they’ll still whinge about the conditions placed upon it when it does because it’s what they do.
Utter bollocks ain't it? ... lightly armed militia, however many different groups there might be, are going to wipe out one of the best equipped armies in the worl... which also has the unlimited backing of the world's biggest superpower both financially and in terms of arms and munitions... still you can never be too careful

Israel aren’t getting wiped out by anybody, you know that and so does the rest of the world. Israel is a nuclear armed country backed with the might of US weaponary. Hamas are finished. Hezbollah are done and Iran have just taken a pummelling. Beaides all of this. Palestine still has an inalienable right to self determination, something that Israel has tried to thwart time and time again. It is not down to Israel’s security concerns alone to determine whether a Palestinian state is established

Couldn't agree more ... just like it isn't right for any Arab group, in any guise, to determine whether Israel should exist ... both should have the right to self determination... and the rest of the world should take measures to ensure those rights are respected...
Between Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran they definitely fancied their chances and got it badly wrong. Why do they have an inalienable right any more than the countless other groups who haven’t been offered a deal for a state and turned it down in the past? Other than that it’s a bit trendy.
Because historically the land is Palestine. And has been inhabited by Palestinians for millennia. Why should Israel be granted statehood and Palestine not ?
Have Palestinians existed for millennia? Not really. The Romans came up with the term and Jews were the first to establish themselves in what today is Israel. A Palestinian identity is a far more recent phenomenon and only emerged as a response to increasing Jewish immigration. This perpetual victimhood and refugee status is based on nothing other than their inability to accept Jews being next door.

Well if you want to get pedantic about it then the canannites were the first people to be recognised in the region, but of course human history goes back way further than that. The land of Palestine is long established going back to biblical times and Palestinian identity is not simply a reaction to European Jewish immigration and the victimhood and refugee status will come from the fact that the Zionist’s expelled huge swathes of Arabs from their homeland during the Nabka
Anyway, we can go over history endlessly and come to the same conclusions that both Jews and Palestinians have historical ties to the land. We are where we are now and I’m reminded of a conversation I had with a descendant of a tribe from First Nation people in British Columbia. He said, nobody is going anywhere, we can’t change history and so we just learned to live with one another.
