You're right...our recent record in the major cup competitions is shocking. I'm not that bothered in as much as I see the league as far more important, but good teams tend to play well in every competition and it would be nice to get there. Inconsistency is one of the hurdles we have to overcome.
Yeah, the issue is definitely key squad members being missing consistently. Not a chance Seelt is going anywhere in my opinion, unless we sign Lucumi soon. Even then Ballard aint fit, Alese aint and we are still waiting for O9. Cirkin not fit, Mundle not fit. Frustrating.
Ironic that in 2013/14 we won every home cup tie and lost every game away from the SoL in both up competitions!
I know a lad who is an editor for a large number of the papers. , was chatting to him at a wedding we were both at on Saturday. When he got into it, it was all about”news” And he loved it. Now the “up the chains” are only about clicks. He knows Copley and Copley hates it too, but he wouldn’t be working without it. It’s the sad way of the world and seemingly they all do it now and have to do it now!
We should have won that game at a canter with better finishing, shape was obviously wrong 1st half but they couldnt get the ball off us 2nd half. It was a good run out for the new lads and fringe players, class goal undone us but as others have touched on this season is all about staying up. Patto looks to have got himself back in shape which is encouraging.
I lost count of the number of times we got in behind their defence then failed to pick out a team mate. We really should have won that game in the second half.
I hope they are handling Dan Ballard’s groin very carefully. We don’t want him out of action for a long time. Pity they both can’t lose this one. I don’t know which result to hope for. A mags win would be best for us right now.
Form what I can see, with the exception of Stach, the Leeds fans are fuming about their summer business based on what they've seen of their new recruits so far. Not impressed by any of them and don't see many as upgrades on what they already had.
Newcastle play such attritional football it's likely to be a nasty confrontation. Slot called it right tbh, Newcastle have a way of playing that relies on bursts of energy followed by a breather full of 'keeper injuries', fouls and team talks. It's clever and difficult to play against but they're a long way from entertaining.
Anyone else think like me ( seek medical help urgently if you do ) but I’m certain our goal last night came off the Huddersfield player & Guiu did not score it I’ve looked at it a few times
