Too early to write off the new signings as failures imo.

Of course it is. They may yet be but deserve ten games before we can even assess

Leeds will never win anything in the Premier League with the current manager we need a change sooner rather than later.

    History is repeating itself.

of course it is… the hype and excitement over some of them by people who had never seen them play was OTT… writing them off now is equally ridiculous. 10 games may give a hint at whether some are up to it or so some clearly not. But that’s the very earliest.

…except for the keeper, who’s clearly a dud <laugh><laugh>. Jokes aside, he gets time to settle too… it’s not like the alternatives are reassuring

Yeah, let's get the list of unemployed managers out now who are looking for a big pay day. Im sure someone will find such a list on the net. Even Marsch has a job at present. As a matter of interest did you expect us to have more than three points from two games at this point

Not that I’m calling for Sean Dyche to be the next Leeds United manager but he’s one that would be on that list.

Right, so I’ve had a think overnight and still feel like it was an unacceptable performance and I don’t think the players heads were in the game. Maybe the wake up call some of them needed? Hopefully. Just a shame to see so many non starters not want to dig in and win a game that was there to be won. Why not start as we finished the game and we wouldn’t be in the predicament we were however this could be a Farke tactic of keeping it as risk free as possible. But to defend Farke the team he put out should be enough to be beating an underage Sheffield Wednesday side.

    Ratings:

Darlow - 1 - Looked okay most of the time and pretty solid but terrible keeping for the goal. Not factored in pens as a lot comes down to luck.

Byram - 5 - Fine as a back up/squad player however definitely not PL quality and thought he was a bit shaky at times.

Bornauw - 7 - In a pretty lacklustre performance I think he did pretty well.

Bijol - 5 - Honestly, pretty disappointed with this one. Was expecting him to be outstanding as he’s one of our more expensive signings and expected him to be playing to start at the weekend however now I am less sure on this. Didn’t do loads wrong but missed a comfortable defensive header first half and made a poorly timed tackle, hopefully just a match sharpness thing but the players he’s going to come up against are only going to get better.

Harrison - 7 - Still some frustration with his crossing accuracy but one of the only players that actually looked like he wanted to make something happen, was passing the ball around with some urgency and at least putting in the effort and trying to make something happen.

Gruev - 4 - Anonymous. Feel like we could do with another CDM if Ampadu is going to have prolonged periods out of the team as we don’t really have another 6.

Longstaff - 5 - Had moments of looking okay but didn’t really do anything either. Will look better with Stach and Ampadu next to him. Think he’d be a solid option away from home in the PL.

Aaronson - 4 - Probably one of his worst outings for us. Has been bright on the wing previously but lost the ball and didn’t really do anything to worry their defence, maybe time to stop with the wing experiment.

Piroe - 3 - A couple of good layoffs but mostly passed backwards or lost the ball. Not a 10 and if we want one play Aaronson there or buy someone else. Didn’t work in the 9 at the weekend and didn’t work in the 10 tonight. Is it time to move him on if we can bring in another 9 that will suit us more? Maybe.

Okafor - 5 - On reflection I probably gave him a tough time yesterday. Looked like he had potential to be threatening without doing too much, potential for him to work but need to see more of him.

Nmecha - 6 - Didn’t do much but had virtually no good service. Think he’s good at holding up the ball. Would potentially start him at the weekend unless DCL is fully fit.

    Subs:

Gnoto - 8 - Put himself about, slightly frustrating at times but got an assist and tried to make things happen. One of the better displays I’ve seen by him as I do tend to give him a hard time but I’d probably start him on the right at the weekend.

Calvert-Lewin - 7 - Yes his penalty was shocking but he got in to some really good positions and made the defence think about him being around. Could’ve had a hat trick and I don’t think any of the chances he had were easy but on another day one or two of those probably bounce in. Can defo see him working for us and starting Saturday if fit enough but would be happy with him or Nmecha. Promising signs.

Stach - 7 - Solid without being spectacular. For me he starts every game and is our best midfielder. Admittedly I didn’t see the Arsenal game where he didn’t have glowing reviews.

Bogle - 9 - Showed why he’s one of the first names on the team sheet, great performance and got a good goal that he basically drove for. Good determination and a bit of passion that we need if we want to do well this year.

James - N/A - Probably on a bit late to actually affect the game. Again, put himself about without doing too much but better than Aaronson on the wing.

Another note from this is that it’s a shame we didn’t go through to keep our squad fit and ready when we need them.

Will we get a second season.:emoticon-0106-cryin When we last went up under Bielsa, I was confident that we'd do ok, well at least survive, but in the end it was Bielsa's style and stubbornness that undid us. This time around I'm as nervous as **** and although its a great achievement to get to the Premier, I wasn't looking forward to playing the likes of Arsenal and the other top teams. Going by what I've seen so far, we are way behind and I can see a few more drubbings coming our way. Looking forward to Championship football next season.:emoticon-0106-cryin The other thing is I can't remember the names of the new players that we've bought. Unfortunately the only way we can compete is to have a couple of hundred million to spend, but even that doesn't guarantee success.<ok>

Exactly my train of thought too. Only thing is the 200m. wouldn't make a difference in my opinion. The main stumbling block we have in making big signings is were not attractive to the top lads. Every other club can offer as much. What top players gonna sign for someone facing seven or eight drubbings a year and a fanbase, where a big proportion are only waiting for first mistake to tear them to bits. Two games in and new keeper already being written off by many. FFS you couldn't make that nonsense up

in all seriousness I don’t think our bitchy Impatient fans would be a factor. It’s hard to get good players to come because of the relegation risk. So you have a choice of our model of experienced pros but either not that good or have some question marks over them v Sunderland’s of exciting but unproven prospects (to be fair they mixed it up a bit later in the window)

That’s your choice. There’s a bun fight for available talent every summer and promoted teams are at the bottom.

Did you expect the performance level of the last two games?
Like players managers don't have to be unemployed to be considered available.

Arsenal game absolutely and there will be more. Guarantee it. No idea what to expect last night with some of that team playing their first game for the club, Saturday will be a litmus test

Of the names mentioned it would be him or Steve Cooper should the club decide to make a change, though would be a bit of a knee jerk reaction to a cup exit for me.
