Two nuns are walking down the street when they notice that a man is following them. Sister Michael, the older and wiser nun, says to the young and naïve Sister Patrick, "See that crossroad ahead? You go left and I'll go right: he can't follow us both. We'll meet back at the Abbey." So the sisters part and the man follows Sister Michael. Some time later, Sister Patrick is anxiously waiting at the Abbey when Sister Michael returns alone. "Thank the Lord you are alright!", exclaims Sister Patrick. "But what happened to that man? "Well," replies Sister Michael, "After a few minutes, I stopped and pulled up my dress." Sister Patrick stares in shock. "Then," continues Sister Michael, "he stopped and pulled down his trousers." Sister Patrick gasps. "Oh Sister, why would you let him do that?" "Because," explains Sister Michael, "a nun with her dress up can run faster than a man with his trousers down!"

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I was starting to do Tai Chi and a couple of you mentioned that you might be interested in doing it a well. I have been following the two videos that I posted on here, doing both routines twice a day and thought you might like to hear my take on it. I had no preconceived ideas about what I was taking on but I am glad that I started doing this. I’m surprised that, despite everything being so slow and gentle, you work a lot of muscles throughout your body. There is quite a lot of spine rotation movements, plenty of movement from one foot to the other and your arms are constantly moving which helps work the back muscles. My balance, that I don’t think I have a problem with, has improved not just as shown by the exercises where you stand on one foot but by the level of control I have when placing the other foot back on the ground, very slowly. At first I would have to put the foot down quickly because of losing balance, but not so much now. The biggest thing that I have noticed, about how I am working different muscles, is how my T-shirts are considerably looser. I am a fat bloke but I have noticed how my shirts hang differently, not touching parts of my upper body that they used to cling to, and I even felt my shirt ripple in the breeze when I was out on Sunday, because there is now a bit of slack. As I said at the beginning, I had no preconceived notion about what the exercises would do but I would heartily recommend them to anyone who wants to start off with something that is so gentle that it doesn’t feel like exercise.
The doctor said my sugar was too high. When I got home, I moved it to a lower shelf; it's much more accessible now.
