Literally not seen roberts even attempt to pass the ball forwards or take on his man, not good enough.

When I saw the line up I wondered if we were going 3 5 2 with Jones left mid. What are they playing?

Im no Phil Parkinson. But playing 442 and having 2 out of position slow wingers is a bit of a head scratcher isnt it?

Too many out of position, and too many happy to play it safe constantly with sideways passes. Get Roberts back to his natural side and Tureriov on for some directness.

Well that wasnt a good watch. They are setup tactically better than we are imo.

Makiuele looks a good un, and an angry one <laugh> Doesnt look like he is used to playing at this low level. Masuaka less so, but early days.

Jones has had a bit of a mare. Only a bairn but doesnt look a left back when the physicality is up. Roberts has been as bad as I can recall, but I dont know what Regis is expecting from him wide left. Barmy imo. Rigg is isolated out wide and is feeding off high diagonals. Neil and Le Fee doing ok in terms of moving the ball but it is nearly always 2 v 3 or even 4 in there.

The two lads up front need to offer a hell of a lot more. Neither want to offer the out ball. Isidor never seems to want to put himself in front of the defender. The amount of times he gives a CB a free header does my head in. Their movement to try and find pockets of space for Le Fee to play into needs to be much better. Just one of them to drop into the deeper role to move their centre backs would be a start.

    All said, we win 3-1.

    Devils advocate here

should RLB have split the squads for the last pre season games and took the first team to Germany and left the “reserves” to play the next day? To me he’s basically said, you’re not good enough to be with the first team, you stay at home, it’s showing they’re not busting a gut to prove a point.

im not a fan of splitting squads in pre season it has be to said.

It was such a small sample size and hes missed so much football the last 4 years- impossible to know what kind of player he is going to be

I could see us selling him if there's an offer on the table

Mind tonight is putting paid to the notion that we’re ’gonna have a real go’ in the cups. Don’t think RLB could be less interested. This is just minutes in the tank for the reserves.

this bloke has lost it, the team that lost should have been playing tonight to put right what went wrong but no lets play the reserves which is worse than last season, no fight in these and no speed get Mowbray or Neil back this is very bad, back to pre season another early exit for us under this bloke
