We were at our most successful period in the PL when we had the clout to bring in some of the best young players in Europe, even ahead of "bigger" clubs sometimes. We were able to do that because we showed a clear path of "play here 1-2 seasons, get a good fee for us and move on". And then we could recruit the next up and comer. The moment you start blocking moves for players is when that method falls apart, and young talent won't want to join. Brighton are doing what we did, but at a slightly higher clip. It's the best method of being able to compete at the right end of the PL table.
I never aspired to play in any capacity once I realised my feet weren't connected to my brain in any way shape or form that could produce anything resembling football skills.
I reckon I would have been okay if I had had a famous football dad and got to hang around with pros all day! But my dad is a books and weed guy
It’s a poll. I just wanted to gauge what consensus was for a good window so that if we do / not achieve it then we take the high ground in later arguments
Whats the right thread? Deadline day there , transfer rumours here? It's chaos tom, need to get grip of it son!
It's stressing me out mate... I have some gospel ITK , but which thread to post it on, mind boggles at times.
We need wingbacks if Still still plays 5 at the back. We need an attacking mid or two if we lose Fernandes and I think we need a striker. Can't see that happening. I haven't got any rumours
You’re right of course but it’s incredibly frustrating. We have been that team before but since then priorities seem to have changed and recruitment has been poor (understatement of the year!). Not helped by player attitudes of course but I know it’s not just us but other clubs seem to be much better at handling it than us.
