In response to Worst City Away trip - and why?
    Started by FosseFilberto‎

In recent history, I will say the 1-0 win at Preston (Nils Eric Johannson 90+1) pretty much confirmed our place in the Championship), Seemed to take an age to get their, not nearly the same amount of time getting back.

Closely followed by Gradel 90+7 free kick equaliser in the 2-2 draw at MK Dons, the 2-0 win at Southend (not for the match) :emoticon-0159-music "We're going up in five minutes, we're going up in five minutes" :emoticon-0159-music four minutes, three minutes so on...

Hey take a look at a quote from the KC Stadium's wiki page

"In a 2005 poll that was carried out by Drivers Jonas and decided by football fans from across the country, the KC Stadium was rated highest in comfort, services and view among all grounds in the Football League"

also a link i found on google to a brighton forum i was unaware of

Yh totally different. If you can afford it i would suggest you go to one. Maybe try one of the more local games first

Ed - ask tkose close to you to arrange it for you as a Christmas present. Florist away in the cup is a decent shout and should be a cracking atmosphere

    The youth of today ..

The comments on both posts put my age into perspective .. I've had some great days out following the City - remember a trip to Hull in the FA Cup late 70s early 80s - travelling support of over 6,000 had the whole side of the ground - even pulled a hot girl from Thurmaston!

Orient away when we won the old second division - there were more City fans there than the 15,000 official attendance - some scally opened the huge away end exit doors and thousands of us piled in for free - orient then swept the home terrace at the opposite end of home fans and the next minute even more Leicester pored onto that terrace - amazing day and a Larry May goal combined with Sunderland being held to a draw in Cardiff saw us go up as Champions

But perhap my favourite 'away experience' was over the easter bank holiday back in the late 70s or early 80s - we had Oldham away on easter Satrurday afternoon (I think) followed by Preston away on the easter monday evening - I think... memory is getting vaguer with age - anyway real highlight was that hundreds of City fans stayed in Blackpool overnight, sleeping on the sea front, in cars etc and on the next morning we had a footie game on Blackpool beach - must of been a 100 on each side.... Those were the days my friend...
