We must go for a win today! Not sure why we paid so much for a striker and he’s not starting. £140m worth of strikers and no place for them in the starting line-up. Amorim loves his 4D football.
Game one - we played well but lost. Game two - we played well and drew. So long as we keep playing well the results will come.
The concern here is that we are still not scoring goals. Bigger concern is Amorim will never readapt his system to make the players excel. And starting games without recognized strikers? Why?? I’m not sure I understand what he’s actually trying to achieve.
Was just in the car and had TalkSport on, they are already ramping up the sack Amorim narrative. From a so called United 'fan' as well (Essex boy Goldstein, very representative obviously) It's been two games (this season) ffs. Two ****ing games.
Chief, it hasn’t been just two games. We have won 7 games in the last 29 league games. It follows a pattern, unfortunately for us. Given how much we’ve invested in the team, any manager will have their back against the wall.
I didn’t. I’m expanding that they are not asking for the manager to be sacked after only two games. It follows a pattern of 29 games of relegation form. You can’t possibly blame the fans. It’s squarely on Amorim to prove everyone wrong.
Correct and he has just bought several players to help with that (should get a keeper IMO as well). We have played two games with his new team and looked quite good, give it a chance to settle.
Last season is gone, it's not the same as it's not the same team. It has to be consigned to the bin and this season is where he/we are judged, with new signings and such like. It's two games we are talking about. Long way to go. Burnley at home, however, has to be seen as a must win game. No one is blaming fans BTW. These aren't supporters. No actual supporters would be calling for him to be sacked two games into a season.
Just to add some context, the people in question were saying there is no improvement on last years 16th position, as we are still in 16th. After two ****ing games!!! Newcastle and Villa also 'only' have one point, and the were fifth and sixth last year. Are we calling for their managers to be sacked, given how far they have slipped? It's ludicrous the way they narrate on radio and on socials nowadays.
So “true Supporters” are very happy? Fair enough then! The point is this - in two games, we have struggled for goals from open play. If you add preseason to it, Mbeumo and Cunha have somewhat struggled to be effective. Yes, it is early days! However, if you think about it, why is the third game already a “must win” game? If we are intellectually honest with ourselves, I’m certain no one is walking around with confidence about our prospect this season. Our dead forum here is somewhat an indication that.
I don't need to think about it. It's a must win because it's Burnley, at home, and we should win that game 19 times out 20. If we don't, then the knives will be out.
So you’re effectively holding your knives over one game? You’re no better than “the fans”. lol On a real; if two games are not enough to judge, we can’t be hanging out hats on the Burnley game. That said, I’m 90% certain we will win the game. But we also need to win it well.
No, because I still won't call for him to be sacked because I'm not a ****ing idiot. I said the knives will be out, not my knives. You do know would Talk Sport is click bait radio, right? And has no warrant whatsoever. These are not fans. They are broadcasters paid to drive a narrative.
