Possibly. Two things about that though. First is the fallacy that survival absolutely depends on stuffing the squad to the point where there is no space for academy players to get minutes. That isn’t necessarily true. Secondly if you make that excuse for this season, are you not just gonna make that excuse next season too? Fumbling Rigg is bad for safc. Is it worse than running a smaller squad than many seem to want? Maybe, or maybe not. Would be dependent on circumstance. We certainly don’t want to get relegated, but we also don’t want to get relegated having completely thrown away our reputation for player development. A safc that fails to make a pathway for our best young academy players is a club that has a ceiling far lower than where we’d like it to be imo. It remains a balance, of course, but hopefully one that the current regime can achieve.
Going to be some pretty big domino affects in the transfer market this week, lots of teams lining up deals in the premier league
Can’t a player just buy out his contract? I know they do that in Spain but legally can they be stopped from doing that? He’s on 150k week, 3 year deal. That’s £23.5million? Why can they do that in Europe but not here? ‘Webster ruling’ isn’t it?
Compare that to how good they were at selling under Ashley. The penny must be slowly dropping with them now and it will take a while to undo.
Nah mate, if you don't mind me saying you are crediting them with far too much common sense. Been on a Teams call with a couple in attendance this morning and they are in full on denial mode. Big lads were there yesterday for a straightener with Isak's agent yesterday and he would have melted, reintegrated after the international break being the consensus. As for the Premyah Leeeeg, well its as corrupt as **** like they were chanting last night. No irony at all. Topped off by Gordon coming out with the little pearl that he loves everything the clerb stands for. What an absolute nuclear grade set of weapons they are man.
Wonder if it was us who has looked at Hwang Hee Chan - Versatile forward was looked at by two prem teams But wolves are not willing to let him go
Footballers are mere commodities now, clubs sign them with probably a 2 year plan for them 3 at the max. Then sell on hopefully for a profit but most definitely the agents get a nice little earner out of it
He will I think. Clearly the player does not want anything to do with them and football aside, the childish exclusion of his family from the family barbecue was rank bad management which would have further fuelled his desire to leave. That would have been unforgivable for me. But this is now a dick waving competition and a bloke who has a young man murdered for going on a demo when still a minor likes to think he has the biggest .
https://x.com/SAFCsource/status/1960377840680960492 means 2 CBs Verona is a lovely place, extremely jealous
Is it fair to say hes a unadopted Geordie now....just only heard of all the adopted ones thats all, possibly up in the air until he leaves
Imagine he won’t play tonight then, good move for him, interesting to see what we don these next few days
Anything can happen these last few days when clubs get desperate. Good move for seelt that, needs to have a full season of playing
I think he ends up staying at this point. A new contract worth about double what he's on with a release clause to go next summer.
