The obligation-to-buy activation was announced in April by both clubs so there would require another announcement to clarify that it is no longer valid. Why wouldn’t they announce that?
Because everything involving this transfer is looking 'a bit sketchy', we only activated Puerta's clause so that we could re-sell him for a profit, we had no intention of actually playing him. Now any bidders will know that the transfer has gone 'tits up' so they won't want to bid anything near his true worth - they sense a bargain is to be had here and will hang out until the window closes on Monday evening. I suspect Acun think's he is entiltled to a bit of profit on any deal and behind the scenes negotiations are taking place to extract a bit of recompense from any deal.
Not if the transfer is void and he's still Leverkusen's player. If we were still liable for the fee and contract but couldn't register him to play him we'd be in very a poor negotiating position, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Got agree on that clarification from the club would settle things, even as simple as Puerta unfortunately returned due to transfer restrictions, deal being discussed to retain Laaloui with EFL ! Until that point speculation will be rife.
As far as we know, he's heading back to Germany (he's probably already there) and he's not our player to sell, so we'll get nothing.
Whatever the situation I'm sure it suits Puerta, himself. I'm sure we can all agree that he was **** anyway.
I love how there’s zero transparency at this club despite the owner pretending he’s some man of the people in constant dialogue with supporters.
