Just want a good performance where we actually play well and in control for the majority of the game. We need to start seeing that if we are to really challenge in the way that's expected this season.

Yes there's still a lot of transfer business with this team to be done but it's still Stills job to get the best out of what he has and he's not. It's not like we have a bunch of strangers, the core of these players have played together for a long time now and yet they still play as if they've never shared a pitch together and that's a big concern for me. Hopefully tomorrow is a chance to show a bit more cohesion.

He grew up and developed with the club and wanted out before doing a thing for the club as a 16 year old. Luckily he couldn’t hack it at Chelsea’s academy and came crawling back, otherwise we’d have got no benefit from developing him at all. Then a couple of years later after continuing his development, he plays a couple of games for the first team and won’t sign a contract extension, essentially forcing us to sell him once again at the first opportunity. So nah, forgive me if I don’t feel any affinity towards him. Hope he does well at Everton because it will benefit Saints. That’s it. See ya. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man but that’s how I feel about this one.

I genuinely don’t see the hype either. It’s like a movie where the characters constantly tell you a character is cool but you never actually see the character do cool things yourself. Like yeah he had a few games where he looked pretty good. He also had a lot of games where he didn’t do a thing and was pushed out the game. People give him a pass as he didn’t fit Juric system but I don’t think that excuses the fact he completely disappeared in the second half of the season.

Charlie is now playing for Basingstoke town, maybe we could tempt him back.

I think that WS should use this opportunity to try a new formation from the start. Up to now the starting team has not had the right balance of defence and attack (too defensive imo) and has led to us going behind and to keep having to chase a game is difficult when teams sit in deep and counter attack us (we got lucky against Wrexham).
I understand Still being a little cautious in a new job but he is simply not getting the best out of the squad imo.
Our build up play is still too slow and methodical and we haven't really had that player who can transition play with direct running centrally since Stuey left. It is good to see more crosses but that shouldn't be the only method of attack and they should be varied and suit the striker recieving them otherwise they can become predictable and easy to defend. There needs to be more tempo to our attacks and clever passing and movement around the oppo box and trying to get in behind them.
In summary, it is early days and we probably will get more creative players in which should make a difference but please Will, no more Adarma as the lone CF!

I'm sure that Norwich will take tonight's match as seriously as Saints will, so I suggest that anyone going to watch should take their boots, as it may end up as a kickabout between the opposing fans, whilst the respective first teams sit and watch. Or maybe they'll take things seriously, and put out a strong team. Or somewhere between those two extremes.
