Some people by the time they get in with their baskets of food then leave early at half time to queue on the concourse then arrive back 10 minutes after the restart before leaving early at the end won’t time to finish the chant in either half.
Yeah, my mate told me we were interested in him at the end of June (before the fee restriction). I assumed the deal would be dead after the fee restriction.
Which makes me wonder, are we getting our wage structure right? If, as it seems, we can't sign extra defensive cover or a third keeper because of the wage cap, then you have to wonder whether we could've spent less across the board. The flipside is we wouldn't have had McBurnie and Lundstram who look really good, but it seems questionable when you can't cover some positions you want to because you've blown the budget before getting to those positions.
I mean is that really the case? Striker and central midfielder are probably the most important players to have signed this summer and we've spent good wages on two proven players in those positions. The backups seem to consist of players in low wages like Ndala, Akintola, Destan etc. We have no idea how low the EFL wage cap is, we could be working miracles to have a decent quality Championship squad that fits under it!
I don't think it'll make much difference as we were going to flip him anyway. If anything due to the way the fees are reported for ffp purposes we'd likely have been better off in the short term if we'd have been allowed to sign him to sell him,
Yes, but we hadn't sold him, so surely the FFP calculation didn't account for a prediction he was sold? I'm no good at understanding it tbf, just my simple terms perspective of it.
My understanding is that any fee we paid would have been accounted for over the length of the contract, but any sale fee would count towards income in the current period. In the event, I don't think he was part of any actual FFP calculation because the deal never got completed.
Given that Kamara had to leave to get the next one through the door suggests exactly that, in that Puerta wasn't even included in their calculations.
I guess he's saying that while we're better off than if we'd bought Puerta in order to keep him, we're worse off than we would have been had we bought Puerta then sold for a profit.
Depends on what happens this week. i think there will be efforts to restructure the Reda and 2 academy kids compensation deals to get them past the EFL.
Which two academy players are being held up? I don't remember seeing that. Hopefully Laalaoui gets through, he could get a fair few mins this season and I'm excited to see what he's like.
