Just want a good performance where we actually play well and in control for the majority of the game. We need to start seeing that if we are to really challenge in the way that's expected this season. Yes there's still a lot of transfer business with this team to be done but it's still Stills job to get the best out of what he has and he's not. It's not like we have a bunch of strangers, the core of these players have played together for a long time now and yet they still play as if they've never shared a pitch together and that's a big concern for me. Hopefully tomorrow is a chance to show a bit more cohesion.
Must be mad going to this tomorrow. Dragging my daughter along to keep me company. Really hope to see Still give 4 at the back a go.
He grew up and developed with the club and wanted out before doing a thing for the club as a 16 year old. Luckily he couldn’t hack it at Chelsea’s academy and came crawling back, otherwise we’d have got no benefit from developing him at all. Then a couple of years later after continuing his development, he plays a couple of games for the first team and won’t sign a contract extension, essentially forcing us to sell him once again at the first opportunity. So nah, forgive me if I don’t feel any affinity towards him. Hope he does well at Everton because it will benefit Saints. That’s it. See ya. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man but that’s how I feel about this one.
I genuinely don’t see the hype either. It’s like a movie where the characters constantly tell you a character is cool but you never actually see the character do cool things yourself. Like yeah he had a few games where he looked pretty good. He also had a lot of games where he didn’t do a thing and was pushed out the game. People give him a pass as he didn’t fit Juric system but I don’t think that excuses the fact he completely disappeared in the second half of the season.
