Another match where I can't fault any of our players, everyone of them gave their all and whilst we had to ride our luck at times we gave them more problems as the game went on. Picking 3 very hard again but today I will go with...

    1 Sam Gale
    2 Andy Smith
    3 Lenny Cirino

Mackenzie, Little and Coleman were exceptional too

Thanks - to all of the Gills players.........Great work ethic.
I thought Crewe looked good 'on-the-ball' - and their first half display deserved at least a point - but - The Gills grew into the game in the 2nd half - and got a 'break' with Gale's winner.
    1. McKenzie - was simply immense.
    2. Smith - not far behind McKenzie.
    3. Coleman - not far behind Smith.
We appear to have a solid back line - with Cirino adding an attacking quality - - and not afraid to take on the opponent's fullback - to get in crosses..... At the moment, it won't be easy for Clarke, O'Gie or Masterson to get into a starting 11.... I am pleased to see Little getting stuck in..... Andrews is working hard to win things up top - and allowing some possession for those around him in advanced positions that have been unfamiliar for a few seasons..... All in all - I'm liking (very much), what I'm watching.

Difficult again another real fighting performance against a side that are likely to be in the mix.

1, Sam Gale another great performance after an early booking Sam needed to time any tackles perfectly well taken goal and great goal line block.
2, Robbie McKenzie so consistent whatever position he plays.
3, Andy Smith won everything in the air and really solid performance.

Both wing backs were also great I love the way Lenni takes players on down the left I think Max is going to find it difficult to get back in the team.

I thought Armani and Ethan were immense in midfield as well and those not mentioned played their part as well.

I think I got home around half-time and to see the score was 0-0 it was sort of playing out as I hoped. I knew Crewe were going to be a difficult team to beat, and I maybe even never antispated quite how difficult. Seeing some of their spectacular attempts, we are finally after all these years getting a bit of luck. Tie that luck in with the commitment of the players, and sometimes you really do create your own luck.

I was so pleased to see Lenni starting again, but I will not deny if I was manager I'd be wanting to wrap him in cotton wool, but you got to let the lad do is his thing and he's doing it superbly.

Nothing should take away though from the man of the moment, Sam Gale, I don't often say this about players but if he keeps doing what he's doing, he'll be playing for a far bigger club than ours in the future. He's only 20 years old, so get us out of L2, get us a foothold in L1 for a season, then let's see what fate brings in the way of fortune for him.

No MOM for me, it wouldn't be fair on the little I saw, I'll just say this is the happiest I've been with my team for a very long time. I don't know what the gaffer has done, but he's certainly got us playing as a team and to our potential. It's a long season though, so calm down brb and just enjoy it for the moments.

Gills win it in dying minutes. This team gives there all and Gale is one of our on. Again goal from a set piece. Think only 2:goals haven't been scored from one now. Again many players could of been top 3
    McKenzie
    Smith
    Coleman.
Special mentions to Little and Gale who could of been top

Like all these comments, should not take away from the team, finally playing as a team. Well done, Gaffer. Good to see another 500 fans and the gate now at 6000.
If we continue in this vein, it would be lovely to see sell-outs.
I noticed GBode was not even on the subs list. Hopefully, nothing is wrong.
Along with the luck we finally got, it could easily have been 5-0 down at halftime. Morris is playing well, and it will be hard to replace him.
As for Lennie, he is pure magic, and linking up on the left with Gale looks like a very dangerous duet. Neither phased, by some dodgy tackles and hold backs.
A trip to Oldham next week, let's hope this form and magic carries on, it is all said a done, only the beginning of the season.

Only saw the second half, so no vote from me, but now that things have settled down a bit have to comment that the one thing that appears to have improved hugely since last season is the work rate, and therefore presumably, fitness. If they keep up that work rate and just improve a bit on the skill level then there's cause for optimism. Two players I don't think mentioned in earlier posts really impressed me - Josh Andrews ran himself in to the ground (not always in a totally lost cause), and Romeo Hutton made some good runs into space and some useful link up play on the right. Can't complain about the general consensus, but not sure how much longer Ainsworth should persist with Nevitt unless he starts at least actually shooting on target, although the same argument could be made against Andrews, but Andrews is at least more of a handful in the box and therefore more likely to cause defensive errors for others to take advantage of.

Off to Oldham next Saturday, which on the basis of the last couple of games I'll be seriously disappointed if we don't win.
