Rather he went to forest over Leeds, dunno why but I just don’t think we’re in the running for him, hopefully we’re after fatawu still
#Sunderland expectant for Jhon Lucumí. ↪️ The defender is doing a lot of effort so that his arrival at the English club materialises. There is already a contractual agreement. Negotiations with #Bologna are still active. Key week. @edu17burgos
For all the improvements, we still fell short against Burnley, a team expecting to struggle. Imagine what teams better than Burnley will do to us without our African players during AFCON. Massive week ahead for me.
Best teams In the world have off days mate, home form is key, we will strengthen we will be okay the owners are no mugs keep the faith
Still think we have a couple others in us on top of those 2, not necessarily immediate starters tho, we are always active until the end of the window and in all honesty lucumi aside no one knows who we are in for
We have a new team, they had the basis of a settled one. They defended deep. We will grow into the season, they are pretty much ‘as they will be’. Was a blip. We over it.
I'm expecting 3 or 4 more as at the moment the team that will face Brighton, Leeds, Man City, Tottenham, Brentford and Palace will be Roefs, Hume, Alderete, Lucemi (assuming he signs) Cirkin (if fit) Neil (if he signs new deal) Le Fee, Rigg, Roberts, Mundle (if fit) Mayenda. If Neil doesn't sign a new deal, currently Alan Browne will play those fixtures, or Harrison Jones if we play Rigg deeper. Don't get me wrong, we've had a great window, but that side gets at most 3 or 4 points from those fixtures.
I don't think Cirkin or Neil will be " pushed out" mind. But they can't expect to be involved if they don't sign a deal. Then there has to be a club wanting to buy, and if there were, I think it would have been clear by now. Up to the lads, but I hope they are thinking clearly, for themselves and instructing their agents rather than the opposite. Rigg is far more of a concern, and his signing a deal would for me be the best bit of business we have done this summer.
From what I have heard and reading between the lines of what many journos have put out, I think the club feel that unless theyre worth paying for, they won't stretch themselves. Bakwa in this situation seems unlikely. To me personally of course. Obviously Lucumi is a big fee. We've got the loan market to further exploit.
This for me. We the team is quite new together and struggled to play against a team that was happy to sit and give us the possession. We struggled the same all last season. I think the lads will improve with time, also Dan Ballard going off was big imo, he carries so much threat from set pieces but also depends better than Seelt, who had a decent game again but Dan is better! Mayenda scores that early chance and its a different result! Reckon we will see a cb, and a winger at least added before the window shuts! Already excited about thr next premier league match! I want to get 5 or 6 more matches out the way to see if West Ham or Burnley performance were more like us!
I think we might look at the CM market. We have quality in there for sure, but it’s not obvious that they all combine well. Uche or Gallagher would be magic.
As Isak will not be playing for the Wildings and Liverpool will not up their bid I think we should help out our neighbours and take Isak on a season long loan. He would be a decent impact sub coming on for the last 15 minutes when Mayenda has tired out the opposition defenders.
Be happy with him good experience and versitle wouldn’t be shocked if we worked out a permanent for him
