Agree Too many things to overcome to get it done. Go all out for Morgan Rogers who’s better and Premier League proven .
so since the Eze debacle, Frank has come out and said that he only wants players that want to play for us. So what do we do? Try to sign someone who doesn’t want to come to us. move on, this just more precious days wasted. it’s been a disasterclass from levy and co, again.
Add to that there's two players who do want to join us that are held hostage by their clubs In one case that probably isn't hyperbole
We've been here before. So many times. The lonely drunk staggering around the bar at closing time, throwing himself at anything in a skirt.
Looks like Paratici just got back from trying to sell Gil and Solomon in Italy then Also worth noting that frees up potential Savinho cash, regardless of Bryan Gil going to Girona for nothing to help out Sheikh Mansour and Fraudiola's younger brother
£80m more than we've spent so far is not gonna cut if you want to get more than one top player which I think has been the plan, and the problem. Levy is trying to get two for the price of one perhaps. Also, that top player actually has to want to come to us, and the club has to want to sell. As clubs around us are growing in their own financial power, the teams 'below' us are beginning to see themselves as similar in stature, in equal position to disrupt the top teams. They don't want to strengthen their 'competition'. They don't see us as existing in a their above us that they can't reach if they keep their players. This is the truth that we are ignoring too often. MGW would have come if he wasn't compromised by an owner that holds this belief. Eze would have come if he hadn't had better options. Crystal Palace are seemingly more accepting of their position, and will benefit greatly from the player sales income. Unfortunately we do not come from that lineage of clubs who have a massive amount of boyhood fans who play at very high levels for other teams. i.e. Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool. Nor do we have an owner who is living on the edge of sustainability rules to bank players en masse to allow cashflow in questionable ways. i.e. Chelsea. One thing worth saying. Levy should be credited for getting the club anywhere near the point where some fans feel entitled to protest for new owners for lack of buying top players. It's highly ironic. I believe Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Villa, Leicester fans would never protest in such a way, partially because they have experienced the reality of relegation. They are less entitled, despite doing 'better' than us in certain respects of late. That stability of consistent presence in the top-ish tier of the league, partially purchased with Levy's caution and thoroughness, is the same thing that buys him the fans entitlement and protest for being consistently close, but not taking the club over the edge that only billionaire bankrollers have done with any consistency, and other have only done in a fleeting fashion, and paid the price of yo-yoing out of the league soon after. I agree with your point about Levy's shrewdness having its uses. Some of which we won't see ironically until the hotel is built and we have an even more positive cashflow situation. Also, if the money spent on sacking managers every few years, can be spent on players instead, we'd also be in a much better situation. Hopefully Frank is the guy who actually stays for a long time.
I think he’ll end up rejecting us to be honest. To leave Leverkusen he’ll want guarantees of being the starting CB and we can’t offer that whilst van de Ven’s here. Money might talk but I have a feeling someone else will come in and offer him both money and the guaranteed starts. Personally I’m not even convinced we need another CB either, though having strong depth never hurt anyone.
Has anyone worked out our potential CL squad by the way? Assuming we do bring in one or two more before the deadline, I’m pretty sure when I done a check about a month or two back that we’re almost certainly going to have to leave around 2-3 players out (and that excludes Solomon and Gil). The likes of Gray, Bergvall, Odobert and Tel will all still require to be on the A-list as they haven’t been here for 2 years to qualify for the B-list and then on top of that I think we’ve got about 20+ senior players (especially with any new additions) vying for the 21 HG and Non-HG spots.
And right on cue Ali Gold says Hincapie’s not a potential signing at this point, though CB is on the agenda, as is a number 10 and winger.
one of them has to be wrong. Romano is saying we’ve made an offer, Ali Gold is saying the opposite. Both tweets were within about 20 mins of each other. Romano said Arsenal are also keen. Not again Edit: Ornstein’s saying the same about arsenal, too. That’s us out of the running then. Eze all over again, except no time wasted. this does stink a bit of Romano fueling the fire after the Eze situation. Also interesting that Gold was quick to say it’s not happening. Maybe the club had a word and knew it needed putting to bed to prevent riots!
Pretty sure the following will be sitting out Kulusevski (out until January) Maddison (out until March - at the earliest) Dragusin (out until January) Vuskovic (in talks with Hamburg over a loan over the weekend) Bissouma (though his spot will surely go to an incoming player) Takai (played 2/3 of a J-League season this year, so is likely going to be drip-fed cup games for a few months) That being said, it looks like a game of Squad Tetris will happen come January, with presumably one of Tel or Odobert giving up their spot once Deki is back
You still may get him to be fair. His priority/1st choice might be us, however, the move is dependent on whether Kiwior's transfer to Porto materialises and possibly Zinchenko's future too. Whilst the former is likely to move away, there's been no concrete links with the latter. He's not making match day squads either, so the Ukranian's future at Arsenal is over. But whether we can get him off the books is another matter altogether. His wages are an issue. So as far as I'm concerned, I think it's still an open race for Hincapie.
if it’s true that he’s keen on the Arsenal move over other clubs, we need to run a mile. We don’t have time to piss about with another player like this, and we shouldn’t want them if they’re showing signs of wanting other clubs. one thing is for sure, Arsenal have to win the league this year with these signings your making. Some very good purchases on top of what is already a very good team. Anything else is a failure.
Used to think Romano was reliable but it’s got to the point now if he tweets first we’ve signed Savinho I won’t believe a word until Ornstein or Ali Gold confirm it as true. Don’t think there was ever a world we would sign Savinho, Hincapie and a number 10 anyway - money wise and the sheer amount of work to get 3 top signings over the line within a week. Personally think we will be lucky to get 2 players in and priority has to be LW and 10. Would feel we would be a little light without signing a defender but also im excited to see Vuskovic stay and who knows we may eventually see Takia and Dragusin in the next few months. Concerned a bit we would be relying on Davies who would be a huge drop off from Spence or Udogie but we could address the LB/FB issue ( depending on where we see Spence playing ) in Jan or next summer. Signing a LW and a 10 I think we will in the main be very happy.
