Have we ever had a quieter transfer window?
Even the ones that left were mainly released as opposed to sold.

Will there be any incomings in the next 2 weeks?
We're still crying out for a bit of experience.

    Rumours: -
Nathan Redmond, released by Burnley, trained with us last week.
Robbie Matondo on loan from Rangers.
The guy we had on loan from Man City until he was injured, was it last season? Full back or left midfield. Sorry, can't remember his name.

I'm not sure any of those fit what we, the fans, think we need.

    Woohoo. Rumours.

Maybe Matondo should have just stayed with us. Grass not always greener.

I wouldn't bother with Matondo. He's quick but never been prolific. Zak Davies is just as quick and can finish far better than him.

Matondo would add very little to what we've already got and we have greater needs than another winger in the squad.

Got to disagree with you on Davies’ pace; he’s slightly quicker than Willock which makes him pedestrian & tonight it showed again as at PV how we need a strong, pacy winger who can at least shoot - a NML type of there’s one out there. (Not sure what’s happened to Tanner tonight)

Trying to prevent a goal kick he slid to put the ball out for a throw then collided with advertising hoarding.

He was in a lot of pain. At best sprained ankle, at worst broken ankle or badly damaged ligaments. Being scanned on Wednesday.

If bad then we may need to acquire another speedy or tricky (or both) winger.

For goodness sake, your best mate Chambers is quicker than Willock.

Zak is quick off the mark if not over a 50 metre race. He has explosive pace to go past defenders if not sustain it - and he can finish like last night..<whistle> <laugh>

Just read that on the BBC.

Really feel for him as he was proving to be a pretty integral part of our line-ups - hopefully 4 months is a pessimistic view.

I note BBM has said we still won't be rushing out and signing players for the sake of it but I really, really hope we get at least one or two bodies in before the window closes, otherwise we really are going to be running with an exceptionally small squad. However talented they may (or may not) be, injuries, fatigue and even mental dips / personal problems will all occur along the way, putting massive strain on every member of the team...

Not expecting miracles and if BBM is to be believed, the delays are down to him being particularly fussy over who he wants to bring in but we really need to be moving heaven and earth to get the right folks in if possible..

He said there are things in the pipeline but that he wouldn't rush out to sign a player just because of an injury.
In some ways it's good that he's picky. Perhaps we'll get players who fit the club and work out, rather than a more scatter gun approach that leaves us with signings out of the squad or not performing.

The more I listen to him speak, the more he grows on me. Always a bit of humour in there as well.
And usually it's about others, not him.
He sees benefit in lots of things and praises lots of staff and players.
The signing of players seems to be down to the board, but his input to those he wants.
    He regularly refers to Deboys.
There seems to be a process with the right people focusing on the right things.

Good discussion about the loan process.

    Another good interview.

After Tanner's injury are signings like Redmond and Matondo more likely?

Redmond offers cover in several areas as BBM said he would like.

If the rumour I heard about him training with us last week is correct, then he would appear to be a good bet.

So Ethan has gone to the Wendies on loan until January.

I'm sure we all wish him the very best and may he play an absolute blinder in his first game for them on Saturday...........<whistle> :emoticon-0105-wink:

The last week of this transfer window and no outfield signings announced.
I hope there are no knee jerk signings and BBM stays true to his word regarding profile.
The young guns have done remarkably so far. We do need reinforcements though. And a few outgoings.
A LB, CB and winger needed. A bonus would be Daland and Alnwick leaving (a shame Horvath was only a loan).
Even with 3 signings, the squad would still look lean, though BBM says he prefers to operate with a smaller squad.
I've always thought 2 players per position, a 3rd keeper and a few players who can do more than one job feels about right, so 26 / 27 players with a few youngsters to pad it out. The problem us, the 26 / 27 is full of youngsters. With the crop of youngsters promoted to the 1st team, Im not sure if there are any ready to come in behind them.

To be fair, it's hard to criticise BBM for what hes done so far. Fingers crossed it's not a bubble that will burst when we hit the inevitable bump in the road.

My glass is more than half full and that makes me nervous.

I’d be disappointed if nobody came in. Two of the first team squad got injured last week. It’s a long old season.

Wasn't it Alan Hansen or Mark Lawrenson who said that you won't win anything with youngsters although the Mancs had the likes of Keane, Schmeichel, Cantona and other old heads to guide their path? And Fergie as manager which might have helped a little.
