Born in Houghton le Spring...but, lived in the States, Abu Dhabi and now retired in South Africa. Struggled to settle here in the beginning, but as time goes by, starting to enjoy life here, beautiful country, weather amazing and the country has its well documented issues, but the province I live in is totally different, safe, clean and another world from these problems

I've always had a touch of jealousy with people like you tbh, I know lots like you ...

... my family around Chopwell have never moved away and they love it.

They bulldozed our village and packed us off to the East Midlands which I never regarded as 'home'.

Despite living in some beautiful parts of the UK, as well as St Tropez, Monaco, Italy, Antibes, etc, my heart is always in Durham.

I'm now in a lovely corner of the Fife coast but love getting on the train to Sunderland.

You've always seemed to move about judging by your postings. I've travelled a lot over the years and visited many places. Nowt exotic, just the usual. But there's nothing better than arriving home. It's a ****ehole in places, but it's my ****ehole with lots of good people.

Started off in shields, travelled a lot for work but got offered a permanent role in Norway and did 3 years in Oslo, was living near the embassies in majoruston, moved to Doha and it’s the biggest mistake of my life.

Oslo and Norway a place I wish I could get back to and settle.

    Born in Sunderland General.

Lived in Sunderland until left to work abroad in 96 but kept house on here as eldest lad was just starting school that year.

On coming back to the UK in 98 got a job for a company in Sussex working on construction jobs in London.

Moved to Sussex and then onto various homes in Lincolnshire where I continued to commute to London daily until COVID when it was possible just to visit sites on a monthly basis and then finally moved back home to the coast in November 2024.

Great being home after so long away, really enjoying not having 6 hour round trips for home games and being able to meet family and friends frequently.
