I’d be shocked if Palace gambled on Charlie. £18m would be more than 1/2 what they’re rumoured to be getting for Guehi.
I'd be fkn amazed if it was even half that, but I get the feeling it's a load of bollox, and will retain that opinion until he leaves on Monday!!!!!
£14m probably about right for where he’s at currently. But he’ll be worth a lot more in 12 months time and is certainly worth a lot more to us at this current time as we can’t replace him
Obviously it's not literally that. He's using it figuratively to refer to the fact we have to free up budget to bring anyone in. Obviously selling someone for 15m plus isn't the same as loaning Kamara out to free up budget to loan in the lad from Besiktas.
You have to wonder what kind of free transfer or loan centre backs are available to us in the last week of the window? Any deals will have to be sanctioned by the EFL for compliance as well. Is this Acun deciding to take the dosh to ease cash flow issues? Lets see if Acun's man Baz Cooper is digging deep on this one.
Lets assume Hughes goes, the club must have expected this and hopefully have some sort of contingency plan to fall back on. Too optimistic? Maybe. Lets see if another centre half we've never heard of appears on the horizon next week.
He's said post match that if a premier league club comes in with 15m or so then he'll go, and that would be the same situation at most championship clubs.
He literally said that McBurnie was joining 'today' about three days before he joined (when it was obvious he was coming) and also said Collyer was the the training ground and signing. I think he just makes stuff up to look like he's ITK. Someone else on twitter was posting about Hughes going to Palace earlier, so he's just jumping on that bandwagon trying to strike lucky I think.
