Oh I do love to be beside the seaside.......Oh hang on we are. We have new giant defenders and a new striker who scores goals apparently. What could possibly go wrong this time. Nothing is the answer.

This has been coming and Argyle were the better side although there were nervous moments of course. There were far fewer misplaced passes and they’re beginning to look like a team rather than 11 strangers.

We actually had the ball in the net twice: the ref was too quick to award Argyle a deserved foul close to the Lyndhurst/Demport corner flag but in the seconds before he did, Argyle had crossed it and milliseconds after he blew, scored. To be fair to the ref, it was a nailed-on foul and the crowd were baying for it. He gave the right decision but if he’d just waited a second…..

Toraj worked hard, is mobile and looks pretty quick. He only got one clear chance which was a rather difficult diving header which the keeper saved. Early days but promising.

Galloway went off towards the end…. Not another injury please…..

For me, Boateng was MotM by some distance despite good performances by a number of others - and that would be without having scored the only goal - not often you can say that!

    Onward and upward….

Oseni was out doing running exercises with one of the coaching staff before the game. I suspect that’s because he has a minor injury problem - perhaps a tight calf or something.

He certainly looked pretty quick to me so it can’t be serious!

Got to square something up before an opinion on the game. The Ref blew straight away for the free kick and the Blackpool players stopped before the non goal was scored. He put the ball in the net with him being the only one still playing on. Not the Refs fault this time and the chants from the Demport End were way off the mark.

We should have been at least two up by half time and missed a couple of gilt edged chances. Our new No.9 missing one of them when it was easier to score. He missed an open goal in the first half. We started the game as per normal. Brightly and we were on top without putting the ball in the net. Mumba should have scored when one on one as well. It seemed we would be fated once again not to score and as the first half wore on Blackpool came into the game but like us couldn't put it to bed. Marginally over the 45 minutes we were the better side although I don't agree our passing was good. Several went astray although maybe not as many as the previous match. Second half startd the same as the first with Argyle pressing and thankfully we finally managed to put the ball between the posts. It was a very well taken individual goal. After that there was much huffing and puffing by both sides without any end product.

I thought Blackpool resorted to being physical when the football wasn't working. We got bullied off the ball although this time it didn't do them any favours. I thought the Ref had a decent game pretty much although he did seem to want to chat to the players at every corner. I don't get why Refs do that. If they see a foul then call it and if it's a penalty resulting then sobeit . To warn players 20 times in a game and then not give anything is a bit weird. The linos were as per normal but this time I leave the Ref out of it. Overall we were well worth our win and I think we might move on and upwards now. New No.9 did well considering he only joined on Thursday. I like his attitude and work rate. Think he will do well when he settles in properly.
